Pretty weak comment against one of our players even by your low standards.

Imagine your hissy fit if someone said that about Payne Haas or one of your present day offendables.

Stop trying to be offended yourself Coat. I was pointing out that Finch must’ve been ok to gather so many votes in a gun Chooks team. The other offended one said he sucked.

Go have a coffee and wake up
      ..it’ll be interesting to see

There has been a lot worse abuse meted out to forum members and our own players sadly.

I still cringe thinking how poorly Brett Finch was treated by a small select group of "fans" and he has battled hard with his own mental health issues.
In fairness jack, that 'kid' (which he ain't) needn't have been abusive from the start for the mere fact of Eddie starting the thread. And it's not the first time I've seen that 'Kid' being like that because he doesn't agree with someones comment.

That was all yesteryear Jack..the Finch thing was a little deeper. Unfortunately things could not be said ...yes I was ant-Finch..but I knew a hell of a lot of things Did not say anything on forums was not my place...lets just say for those days nothing to defend as for now you can defend him as he challenges his demons .

Hog has to learn to be better than that.
That's a good call Brain. Watching the replay of the 2019 Anzac game when Cordner puts Lam on break and Lam sees Teddy inside of him but chooses to go away from from him thus bombing a certain try. But as far as last Saturday, Lam picks up the ball and at no stage does he even look to his left where JMoz should be, and he was.

              • LOL Having refereed Lam in touch football He is anything but slow. The winger who chased him looked like a flying machine to me

He's sharp over the first 20m, and as a half, that's what you want him to be. Flanagan would have picked it up on the 10m and been caught on the 20m

Haha thats pretty much the point.

Lam is quick, fast feet to step and accelerate for short trips. Thats what you need in a half as HC says. But he wont run you the length or even 50m likely with pursuit.

Little short legs like Volkman. But interestingly the V man can run a trip at pace.

                    • i didn't have a problem with lam but you can't make a break and lose the ball on a zero tackle. yes, he was blindsided but that goes with the territory when you make a break. if anything his problem was that he was looking for support rather than concentrating on ball security

                      • Thanks to those who have shown concern. It's true I have PTSD, anxiety and depression. The Roosters are the only thing that has given me any pleasure in the last few years, and I am greedy and want more premierships.

I'd like to say that I hope Lam has a blinder this week, and in that case I'd have no problem in admitting I was wrong.
I guess this thread has become about whether it's acceptable to criticize players you don't think are up to the job.
Personally I thought that was one of the functions of the forum. (provided there's no irrational abuse)

I want what I think is best for the team.

                        Go Easts.

This thread should never have been started. We all know that Walker is the FUTURE... IF he makes it. But that is no reason to bag Lam who is our best option at the moment.
'no life mates' - nice. Who's being patronizing exactly? There's offering opinions and then there's abuse.

For what it's worth, my opinion is Lam is the only viable option at the moment. Clearly Walker is the future but Robbo won't rush him in just yet. I think attack wise, he's probably ready for NRL, defence wise probably not. It's a bit hard to judge Lam's performance given he was forced to move from five-eighth to dummy half to half in the game against Manly. He did well under the circumstances I thought. His defence is solid. He and Keary were a bit clunky together in attack but it will take time. Remember it even took the great Coops and Luke time to gel. I remember the Chookpen being up in arms for the first 10 rounds of 2018, claiming Cronk was a dud signing and past it!

Thats a very good point MR....I forgot about the Cronk bagging and time he took to look comfortable. Lachie is in pretty good company!
