I'm still burning about Adam being out...
When he came on he defintely had an impact, aggressive in both attack and defence. I was really impressed by his involvement.
Wishing him a speedy recovery and I can't wait till he's back on...
I was sort of missing that mongrel from Radley and Adam shown some similarities ... big dog JWH was causing trouble as always like a sledgehammer but Adam was more of a sniper with his defence etc

From the way Keighran was carrying the ball I think he’s been talking to Rads a lot. Rads has a unique carry for a ball playing middle in that he comes onto the ball slow and accelerates after the catch. Most are taught to catch fast and then play slow. This will limit line speed as defenders ready themselves for contact and gives that link middle more time and steadiness to pass but if they run or their support isn’t perfectly time they often have a slow play the ball. Rads does the opposite which might cost him some pre-contact metres but it puts defenders on the back foot when he surges into contact. It shows a run first mentality which all coaches want in their ball players. And to top it off he can still execute the second-man pass at top speed as he accelerates into the line which makes it difficult for outside defenders to anticipate that he’s going out the back because they’re used to reading that acceleration as a run play.
Adam has a very similar carry with possibly better pre-line footwork than Rads which puts guys off balance. He knocked two defenders on their arses with it in two different runs against Manly. And from the small sample size we got to see he’s got a sharp and accurate pass out the back.
It was such an innocuous tackle that caused the injury where it looked like he got his hand caught under a manly player while taking him to ground. I hope once he’s back he can hold his position because with the uncertainty around Friend, once Verrills is back we’ll need someone on the bench that can cover that role as well as the utility back role (with injuries to backs becoming more common) and contribute some time as an impact middle when Rads comes off. From what I saw last week he’s the perfect solution if he can stay fit.

Its a real shame about Keighran I agree he ticks a lot of boxes for us as our 14. Still yet to see enough of him to formulate a strong view but first impressions were good.

I hope Keighran comes back & plays some really good football for the Roosters.
