  • Angus Chrichton Charged by Judiciary

Angus has been charged for a grade 1 crusher tackle.

If he pleads guilty it's 1 week suspension and if he fights it and loses than he will get 2 weeks.

Just reported on fox sports website.

They said in Fox Friking League wrap that even though it's innocuous, Gus will find it hard to beat it so it's probably best he accepts it and should miss one week. We need him against the vermin.

I couldn't find any video of a crusher. Only saw Gus push him from behind

It was so minor the ref and linesman didn’t even pick it up. Bloody match review committee. I taped the game and had to search for it. When I found it I couldn’t believe he’s been charged and will miss a game for this action. It was accidental and Gus tried to avoid doing damage but that won’t matter if he goes to the PC judiciary. Club is probably safer to take the early guilty plea. Not worth the risk fighting it.

Is that the play when one of the Manly players held the back of his head? All you have to do these days is hold the back of your head and you get a penalty or someone suspended.

Proseca is a giant and he should be able to withstand any force that Angus would have done which was close to zero. Proseca was just milking it and that's the problem with the rule. There is no blame on the player who gets tackled and decides to twist or turn around to offload.

If a player complains he should go off for 15min for an assessment.

Better still, go off and get an MRI...that will keep him away for at least 30, if he can get a quick appointment.

But its ridiculous that a footy player has to do all that running, tackling, hard hits whatever else and they are often struggling to get a breath, that they now have to recognise that when an opposing player decides to turn their back as they are being tackled, the tackling player has to go from full force in attempting the tackle, to have to handle them now with kid gloves. I understand that those that have done this type of tackle as a form of trying to intimidate an opposition player should be penalised, but in todays game all players know not to do that and when it happens, it's usually the fault of the ball carrier. This rule should be contested so it doesn't reward the milker.

It was accidental but we'll just have to cop the early plea on this one. I thought paseka was manlys best against us in the game and gave us trouble with his off loading ability, he is a giant and has a bright future.

The Sydney Roosters have elected to enter early guilty pleas for Jake Friend, Angus Crichton and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves after they were cited by the NRL Match Review Committee following the Club's Round 1 match against the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

As a result, Angus Crichton will be unavailable for selection for the Roosters' Round 2 match against the Wests Tigers, while Friend and Waerea-Hargreaves have both accepted monetary fines.

Hey RoosterChick, in what minute of the game is Angus' alleged crusher?

Can't believe that Gus was sighted in the first place. At least he will be back for the vermin match.

The JWH call was the most ridiculous of the round. Big sigh of relief that he won't miss any game time
