  • Radley

I read in the SMH that the Radley suspension includes Round 1 and he'll be eligible for selection against the Vermin. The same article also said the Roosters accepted the suspension as Victor did try to pull a swifty and lied about the incident (said his brother tackled the guy in question).

The same article also included an interesting story about Suaalii doing some good PR with V'landys.

I think a fair bit of the rust will be off souffs by round 3 and we will definitely needs Rad on deck but the worrying part is how much can we really expect from him in his first game back after almost 12 months?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't believe that report is correct. The Casualty Ward section on the NRL.com page shows the following:

          Sydney Roosters

Jake Friend was sidelined early in the second half of his team's match against Manly following a head clash and is likely to be in doubt for round two.

Adam Keighran also suffered a dislocated wrist in the win and is expected to spend an extended time on the sidelines.
          • Jake Friend (concussion, TBA)
          • Adam Keighran (wrist, TBA)
          • Victor Radley (knee/suspended, round 4)
          • Sam Verrills (knee, round 3-4)
          • Billy Smith (shoulder, mid-season)
          • Boyd Cordner (concussion, indefinite)

That could mean that his injury is expected to keep him out until Round 4, not that he is suspended until then.

Yes, it could, but I'm afraid I'm not that optimistic.

I am very much looking forward to seeing him back, but I am not sure Round 3 should be the game for his return. We don't want him back too early and risk anything going wrong.

If it means another week or two, then so be it.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Why do you think it’s too early? For all we know he may have been ready a month ago and the extra time off is the extra precaution we are taking.

IMO that's poor form if he lied about it. I really dislike that kinda conduct as (a bit like thieves)... it's difficult to trust them in the future.

I don't wanna write Radley off so I hope he learns from this punishment and doesn't try this sorta shyte in the future.

Interesting how 'suspensions' work. I woulda thought you'd have to name a player for them to be 'suspended', particularly when it's common knowledge that they're injured. I think Souffs have pulled this trick a few times, where injured players have served 'suspensions' while injured. I don't like that either, but I guess if everybody else does it...

I guess if the club had prior knowledge that he was to be suspended they wouldn't name him so maybe , hopefully it does include round one

I thought Norman was given 2 weeks plus fine for his fighting incident, though also being in the aid of a friend., but he will be back this week.
