Surely that can’t be your thought process with souffs. They’ve always been a shyt club so you mustn’t have ever hated them?

I reckon the tribalism, rivalry, hatred etc galvanises both teams and each improves because we want to beat the other.

I love it. Its good theater and it makes us a better team.

Despite all the talk about rivalry, I'll make a big prediction about Souffs premiership campaign.
By mid- season , Souffs premiership hopes will be gone after their lightweight forward pack gets dominated by the heavyweights.
Crowe, Skeletor , the betting agencies, and the Souffs fans will be crying in their beer.
It doesn't matter how many passes Latrells, Cody Walkers, Alex Johnsons and Adam Reynolds throw, it isn't going to matter when your team is getting owned by the opposition forwards.
Crying won't help them, praying won't do them no good.
If they are in the top 8 at season end, they will only be making up the numbers.
The Storm had them at 22-0 in round 1, and had them shot.
Its the sign of things to come.

When my dad, brother & I I used to walk back across Anzac parade & then into the park there was a small brick shed with an awning on it for cover & hopeless derelict old blokes p!ssed as would be camped there. Used to scare me when I was young.
The strange looking Roosters supporters wasn't in the mid to late 70's and early 80's by chance as if so i think i know the group your talking about.

Used to be a group of Parra supporters -blokes in the 40's or so dressed in the whole Parra kit - jersey/shorts/socks and even footy boots.

Thought they were players and told people so and kids with their Parra players scanlon cards would be trying to identify them but to no avail as of course they weren't players.

Had a couple of normal as they say people with them so i would say they were from a nearby facility.

Only seen them at Cumberland oval never the away game at the Sports ground. That was when lining up for the gates to open - the days of under 23's , Reserves and First Grade on the same day.

Most fans look at the draw as soon as it’s released and mark down those games that they look forward to for the season. If the club has a strong rivalry with another, the fans especially look forward to that with expectations and fear and that fear increases the level of adrenaline and when it’s conquered, the satisfaction releases all those good chemicals like endorphins, dopamine etc. If we didn’t have a good rivalry with a club, the season would be like playing the Storm or even the Titans. Good games but it’s just another one.

As much as I hate souffs, I look forward with trepidation the games because I don’t want to lose to that scummy club and don’t we enjoy sticking it to them when we beat them? Then again, there are hiccups along the way too! As much as we loath Crowe for being a dick, we have to thank him for making his rabble competitive because before that, the game between the two teams was not in my radar.

                  Good post.
Im so much more excited about the Roosters playing Souths compared to last week. This week we all know that both teams are going to compete & they are both full of top line players. People who follow other clubs will be watching this game because people love watching 2 top sides with rivalry play one another.

Gynge is doin the Ray Price praying mantis

*The Chook Army (diehard supporters of Eastern Suburbs) singing “We hate Ray Price and we hate Ray Price / We hate Ray Price and we hate Ray Price / We hate Ray Price and we hate Ray Price / we are the Ray Price haters”. One actually threw a grapefruit at him while he was in his petrified praying mantis pose — he didn’t budge.

Hate is such a strong term but, when it comes to the Rabble, I go almighty close. I never used to dislike them this much years ago, before they were readmitted, Crowe took over, did the thumbs down against us and pushed the Book of Fools. I have been abused by some of their fine, upstanding citizen fans. I strongly dislike their lack of respect towards our great club, and its history and juniors. By contrast, I love our class and sheer professionalism. I hope it will serve us well tomorrow and for the rest of the season.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

And another thing - that club and their culture are pure poison, and that's my opinion.

I only submitted 7 answers in the informal one I run with 2 young fellas I work with. I told them I had a sick feeling about this game (I'd actually broken out in a terrible rash earlier this week and poor Horrie Hastings has been getting a daily rash status text message from me) and the charger on my laptop died too. All bad omens I said...I turned on my little radio to hear that Poison Arrow was shoving someone's face into the ground or some such nonsense..they really don't like him on ABC Grandstand..that was enough for me..

Well, I'm off to Apple at the junction to face the feral infestation of their fans with my rash and broken charger...

Just put it down to a bad day at the office..hope everyone has a good weekend otherwise and a Happy Easter next week if I don't get a chance to come back on here..
