Injuries aside, could have been worse. we were diabolical and souffs couldn’t take us to the cleaners. As bad as were, IMO, one rabbit punch cost us the game. I think they scored twice while down to 12 did they not? We only lost by 10.

Maybe the two big wins played on their minds somewhat in thinking it will happen again- different kettle of fish playing a well prepared side who seemingly knew what the Chooks were going to do before they did. The right side defence wasn't great and were well contained in attack where in the previous 2 games that side had scored 10 of the 12 tries.

The Chooks were guilty of going sideways in attack way too much and not forward and through the middle before going wide. Really struggled to make ground in their sets compounded by errors and ill discipline.

The new attacking style will most likely have to put back in the cue rack and another developed to suit a new halves pairing one would say. Cannot think the attacking style they displayed vs Manly and Wests Tigers will work against all sides especially the better ones.

Didn't cost the game as they played poorly no other way around it - the two big wins had an affect as maybe they got into a bit of a comfort zone as a result - were not ready for a much tougher opposition and what was required in such a game.

Wanted to play around Souffs Vermin instead of through them- too much sideways attack trying to find an easy way out. Right side defence was poor. Struggled for yardage in their sets and seemed panicked and without ideas at other times.

Obviously 2 new halves will have to be found and i dare say a re-think of their attacking game and a vast improvement in attitude/effort and discipline. - That performance was not good enough and the players will need to take ownership for that loss.

Indeed mate but and it should have been a lot worse but for all our fark ups, we still only went down by 10 where we should have gone down by 3 times that.

If I was a souths supporter I would have enjoyed that win more than last years flogging.
the chooks where beaten in every aspect of the game and the score flattered the roosters.
We didn't throw in the towel like last year and late in the second half when the chooks tried to lift the intensity in D the vermin fought fire with petrol.
Hate to say it but they are a genuine premiership threat and they bashed us up .Our sideways attack made it easy for them . We need victor and cords back asap and I hope Walker and Suali are both ready because we need them to be....

I said before the season started that souffs worried me this year. They recruited very well and their depth looks to be just about right. They appear to be playing to be a very Penrith style of footy and it will be interesting to see them come up against the riff in round 11. Both sides should be pretty on song by then so no excuses for either of them.
