We are never done, this is the Roosters. Robbo will make sure that we fight until the end.

It's still 17 against 17 - still need to play well in all facets to be in with a chance to win games. It's not impossible because we lose one player though - not a one player team- there are plenty of players with vast experience who can and will need to step up for the season not to be deemed a hard luck story - cruelled because of injuries and absences.

The Statler and Waldorf mob have given up quicker than they give up on players if they ever rated the player that is - Let the rest of us not be like them.- Imagine being in the trenches with them though they would run before a shot was fired or surrender to the enemy.

Denial is one of the stages.

I sincerely hope you are right.

We’re gone, hate to say it.
In all honesty Souths, Penrith, Canberra & Melbourne all have superior halves to what the Roosters have & just on that alone would have finished higher than us. To lose both of your first choice halves combination long term is devastating it’s the worst case scenario for a club.
The positive to come out of this is that Walker will come in at 18 & have the privilege of playing in the trump position for our mighty club, I don’t think this is going to happen but imagine if Walker comes in & plays halfback with Joey at 5/8 & they kill it.

I don't think we are done just yet and I expect that to be the attitude within the inner sanctum.

I am reminded of 2002 where the Roosters had a heavy injury toll early that season and in one game fielding almost a reserve grade side against Newcastle and going down narrowly. Sure, it is now 2021 and a different path needs to be forged.

Apparently, according to the snot colored milk drinkers, it wasn’t their injury toll that lost them the game. It was one missed forward pass.

This mob love to be victims. If there was a Victims premiership, they would be B2B2B2B2B2B2B (im sick of typing it) premiers ever year!

                  No way we are done..

As long as we don’t get many more injuries throughout the season we still have a strong enough team to make the top 4!

Things looked pretty grim but an 18 year old Ian Schubert, in his first year in first grade, filled his shoes. Then, during the finals, we lost another attacking weapon, Mark Harris. To replace him, a kid named Reg Clough made his first grade debut in the preliminary final but he got injured too. So, in the Grand Final, another kid made his first grade debut - John Rheinberger - and we won the comp.

So yes, miracles can happen! But even if they don't, let's enjoy the ride. As Robbo said, once we get over the disappointment, there'll be a lot of excitement in watching the young talent get its chance.
Agreed. It's round 3 and anything could happen. For example last year we came 4th and teams ranked 6-8 seemed to get a better run than us because the top-4 was too crowded and Melbourne/Penrith were too good.

Walker will probably play Origin one day. Lam will probably be a regular 1st grader (somewhere). Hutcho's the kinda mate everybody wants to have around when times are tough. Keighran wants to prove he's a 1st grader and would be resilient as hell after last year with the Warriors.

Our attack doesn't require a JT/Freddy-esque half... it just needs somebody who can feel where Teddy/Morris'/Tupou/Manu are. Souths had nothing when we were within range... we just didn't get there much because our defence s*cked.

IMO it's our forwards who need to step up. On paper, Souffs had nothing in their forwards (aside from Murray & Cook) and yet they dominated us. With Friend and Cords out this will be tough... but Collins (back soon), SST, JWH, Crichton, Sitili, Liu...etc are all more than capable of getting the job done. They just need to play properly! JWH needs to be a leader rather than a thug for starters.

But Keary isn't just 'one player'...he is our 6 & 7 this year!!

Looking forward to hopefully seeing Walker get a good crack earlier than expected
