Players are fatiguing, their muscles which support joints fatiguing and therefore more knee and ankle injuries. The team that has to defend 6 agains are not getting even a slight relief for the body to even rest momentarily and recharge. Also with exhaustion errors occur mentally and that can lead to more injuries when players stretch or reach the wrong way, Hamstrings , ACLs. Not to mention being able to make better choices when tackling to avoid injuring other players with high tackles. It’s a mad scramble without thought or technique coming into play because of exhaustion. Like you said though.Things won’t probably change because Vlandys wants a fast entertaining game no matter what the cost to player welfare.
Roosterchick...just to support your fatigue thesis...this is from experts...., something I've been talking about in other posts.....

The athlete could be off balance, held by an opponent, avoiding collision with an opponent, or have adopted an unusually wide foot position. These perturbations contribute to this injury by causing the athlete to plant the foot so as to promote unfavourable lower extremity alignment which may be compounded by inadequate muscle protection and poor neuromuscular control.
Fatigue and loss of concentration may also be a factor. What has become recognized is that unfavourable body movements in landing and pivoting can occur, leading to what has become known as the 'Functional Valgus' or 'Dynamic Valgus' knee, a pattern of knee collapse where the knee falls medial to the hip and foot.

Suaalii's NRL contract had not been formally registered by the NRL (as of yesterday). There was an issue with signatures that required it to be re-submitted. Therefore, at the time Robbo addressed the media, Suaalii was NOT available for selection. This may since have been remedied, but my understanding is that this was the case yesterday.

Yes. I thank you for your input. I am more than a little worried for future games. Not just for our team but all teams. The crazy amount of injuries last week and the amount of players injured this season when there have only been 3 rounds played. How many more players have to get injured before the NRL does something to stop this.
The teams with the least amount of injuries will be there at the pointy end of the season. I don’t know what we can do to combat the increasing injury toll. I can’t see Vlandys going back to the old model which I believe would bring the injury count down.
