  • Josh McGuire for the right price ?

"Josh McGuire has been told he can speak to rivals as the Cowboys aim to get their roster in shape and sign Adam Reynolds."

I know he is a grub but he is a solid and battle tested player. If the Roosters don't buy a backup 5/8 or Half-Back like James Maloney or Gareth Widdop or someone in the NRL within the next week or two ... then wouldn't the dispensation money that the Roosters got from Cordner's conucussion related incident in Origin last year be suitable to look at McGuire ? almost a "like for like" replacement.

Due to HIA and suspension...we're facing the Warriors this weekend with a very small/slim forward pack and I think we are one forward short in regards to depth cover. At full-strength we have no issues but we don't have a "5th Forward" where we can use and games against big and powerful packs will cost us. Last week against Souffs...our forwards had no punch and we got beaten up in the middle...Radley returning does tighten things up but we can't solely rely on him.

For the right price ? ... approx $350k ... I think Josh would be a good addition to our pack ... but bloddy hell there is a risk with him and JWH playing together that we'd be facing the NRL Judiciary every week !

    Thoughts ? Worth a look ? Pass ?

If we are to be granted the exemption on a like for like basis, then his mongrel would be welcomed in our pack. Not my favourite player but if he dons the RWB my sentiments can be easily swayed.

We play nice...but the rules have obviously changed and "thuggery " seems to be king.
        Yes, buy him.

Why don't we have a big and powerful team?
Eels are getting a 124kg player.

Cowboys are talking about next year. You are talking about this year.

We could pay him peanuts like we did for LOD and Jason Ryles but I would expect him to be back at Broncos for that price.

I feel the same way. Nothing wrong with a bit of mongrel. Plus he’d fit in amongst the Bondi hipsters.

Then go follow the Eels and hang alongside their empty trophy cabinet. Since when are The Eels the benchmark?

                    Moose on the loose?

Mickie will be skipping across headstones. But the lad can play.

Nope, part of the reasons why the Cowboys leak so many points.

Major Red flag that he has now been pushed out of 2 struggling clubs in matter of years.

There is no talk of the Cows releasing him just that he's free to explore his options even though signed to 2022- He's 31 and rather battered one has to day - Cows are really wanting to free us cash to refresh their roster - supposedly a 3 million dollar 3 year deal for Tatts All (Reynolds) is on the table

                              JWH is a grub.

                              But he is our grub.
