For those saying that we should be buying Gordon, I dont know what you are smoking. He is at the end of his carreer and only has maybe 3 years left. He ISNT a fullback, merely a winger. He is a decent winger and wouldnt mind if we singed him as a wing. But Gordon wants to play fullback and im sorry but he just doesnt offer anything at fullback...apart from his speed. Once Mini goes we should be replacing him with a quality fullback.

As for the SBW/Cooper deal, hopefully we get them both, I reckon they would be great. My only concern would be the $$$ we are paying them, but I have faith that Nick wont do anything too stupid...

Although Cooper had a poor WC I think he has a lot to offer, he has flair which we are currently lacking in our backs...and I think he will be more suited to Rugby League...lets not forget he is only young, so with some guidance I think he could be a top player. Possibly play him at fullback (i think he has the pace), or 5-8th, depending on who else we sign in other positions!!!

Not a fullback? Tell that to the teams that played him when the young kid was out injured for half the year. Gordon was on fire at fullback. Played the best footy I have seen him play. And 3 years to go? Thats the normal length of a contract. That should not be a deterrant against signing him. He is not a forward. He still has plenty of footy left in him. And Cooper CANNOT tackle!

Cooper is a defensive liabilty in yawnion. Imagine what a defensive liabilty he would be in league. That is what has made people think twice about whether he suits league. There are 13 players in a league game, not 15 like yawnion. Less coverage and less places to hide someone who cannot tackle. Now I am not saying Cooper wont make it in league. If he learns to tackle he might. And I am also not calling you an idiot (or whats referred to as a 'keyboard hero') just because my opinion differs from yours.

Cooper would be a freak in league. Just like he is a freak in union. People judging him on a handful of poor games in the world cup have absolutely no idea. He was forced by boneheaded coaches to play a defensive game that he is totally unsuited to. He'll crush it in league. Would be a much better buy than SBW.

Maybe Garrick Morgan, Tony D'Arcy.. just from a long list of Australan Rugby Players who came to League and failed miserably.. He may be a great Rugby player but this does not mean he would succeed in League. $700K would be enough to buy most league players, particularly fullbacks. Why risk it on someone completely unproven?
