My personal opinion, I reckon he is really overrated at hooker. Great lock and impact player, but an 80 minute hooker role doesnt suit him

Smith seems to be a very good and solid player, but I don't think his price tag will be conducive to us being interested in him unfortunately. There might be some cheaper options around.

Friend retiring early makes no difference to our cap - his salary still counts for this year and was off contract at the end of the year anyway

So our future plans for the number 9 position shouldn’t be different (financially anyway) - unless cordner also retires, that may free up more space they could use
