MORRIS WAS ALL BUT GONE
"The Dragons can thank their lucky stars they managed to hang on to tryscoring sensation Brett Morris. One of the best prospects in the game, Morris had all but signed with the Roosters - but the club had to pull back its offer at the last minute when they couldn't fit him under the salary cap."
Despite what was in the papers, and certain Bulldog fans, Brett was never going to leave the Dragons as long as they came up with a reasonable deal.
As a rule it's very rare that Saints lose a player they want to keep.

So long as we re-sign Cherrington and Towers, I will be pretty happy with our retention this year. Sure we lost Shack, but keeping Mitch Aubusson, Tom Symonds, FP Nuuausala, Anthony Cherrington and Luke Towers, to go with already long-term contracted youth such as Williamson, Friend, Pearce, Sa, SKD, Perrett and James Aubusson, would be a tremendous boost for our 'homegrown' player base.
It is a shame that Mason is probably who cost us Tupou and Shackleton though.
