Mentioned that there is a lot of juggling that occurs to keep such a talent squad and that he definitely wants to stay a rooster so the one year deal was best for both parties for now.

Gus also mentioned to Freddy (who is a host of this show on 2GB) that he saw Freddy’s young bloke at the Scots footy camp (wasn’t aware that he attended there) and that he was looking bigger then Freddy these days (jokingly but must be a solid kid). Says Freddy jnr is currently 14 - looking forward to see him play in the future.

Also mentioned the fun fact that Suaalii was in year 7 when Billy Smith was in year 12. Talk about feeling old!

My main takeaway from your post Northy is ...how good is it to have guys like Billy and Suailii coming through to replace guys like the Moz?

      We are doin ok.
      Too true mate!

Not sure but you can get it goes up every great game he has and the more desperate clubs like Cronulla and broncos sniff around

I think he will be loyal (by the sounds of it) but may not come cheap like he would have at the start of the year - his management is smart. He is a very important investment though, we can build out next era around guys like sammy

Walker is living the dream playing for the team he loved as a child and a team that is considered by ALL as one of 2 most professional clubs in the comp. One of Sam's biggest champion is Ben Ikin who is a very good family friend and he says it often that Ben Walker is so laid back and unassuming that he doesn't get into bragging or talking up Sam to Ben (Ikin). I'm thinking that Ben (father) will want the best for his son as far as his footy career and yes money, but most of all is that his son is looked after and is happy. I'm sure that the Roosters can tick all those boxes.

He'll probably get the going rate, plus $10 for every Harbour Bridge pass.

Walker will stay for unders - just like Gus. They both have said they want to be roosters long-term.

The transit lounge is just a red-headed memory.

Yeah money wise the broncos can blow us away, get rid of that waste of space Milford and there is 900 available right there. We will not be in a position to even get close to that for 2-3 years, so lets hope he is happy to hang around for a few years on much less than he can get elsewhere.

In a few years we probably won’t still have Keary. He’s 29 now. 30 by the time he’s back playing. Anyway let’s just enjoy Sam now. Who knows what the future holds.

He mentioned the rugby world cup in 2023 hadn't entered his thought process obviously being dumped out in the quarter finals isn't a lifelong ambition. Great to hear that he loves the place and we can look forward to having him in his prime years.

That would be nice. I’d hate to lose him and hope when he retires he retires as a one club player with 300+ games to his name. One of the most humble and underrated players going around.

How good is it to see under Robbo how many players the Roosters get at a young age along with some juniors & develop them to become top line players without having to buy them.
Look at the Dogs who can only see buying players will strength them paying overs & having no players coming through their ranks. Its not sustainable you have to develop players, trying to buy the comp doesnt work.

Good to hear on NRL360 that Sam Walker will sign long term deal. That means the spine (Teddy, Keary and Sam Verrialls ) all signed long term. Creates great stability and we can fit the jig-saw pieces around them.
