Yes Salvo, you're right and I lost my super the little that I had, to a fight for my life due to throat cancer.

I went their last Saturday before the game, and the new renovations are great, but it’s only half done. The Artie bar serves delicious pub food and there are large screens everywhere to watch the footy. Definitely worth a visit.

Jack that was 10 years ago, and I still have after-effects of the radiation. My brother got the same 5 years after me, unfortunately, he didn't make it.

Ha hilarious- it’s not that small to be honest - they have just done it up as well it’s not bad. It is at the moment as the Reno isn’t finished so we only have half a club but the bar and room where you watch the game is huge.

Anyone who asks why can’t we have a club as large as Penriths has never tried to buy property in the eastern suburbs vs buying out west and has never bothered to crawl out from under the rock they are currently living.

The place is fine - stay out is the pokie room that every club has 13 and it’s not depressing.

You know why I love the leagues club? It payed for John Brass, Ron Coote, Artie Beetson, Russell Fairfax, Elwyn Walters, Bobby Fulton, Kerŕy Boustead, Ken Wright, Garry Freeman, Brad Fittler, Craig Fitzgibbon, Cooper Cronk etc etc etc etc etc etc. It's also why I love poker machines. Ps Kramer I'm really sorry to hear about your brother. I lost my brother to the big c as well.

Yeh they live in the East so they all much be rich.
That’s a bit naive coming from one of our smarter contributors like you. No mate the rich self funded oldies are all out on the harbour.

When I was at school, (Newtown Boy High), I worked for Ron Coote, he owned 3 McDonalds. End of each year we had our Xmas party at East Leagues, I remember we had to walk all the way back to Newtown as we missed the last train. Ron was a hard man to work for but he gave me my first job and I will always be great full. I still remember playing touch footy with him. Ron does great work in the community now. His wife and kids were great to work for.
We moved to Rosebay in 1980 from Melbourne, only lived there for two years but that’s where I got my passion for the Roosters. My first memory was losing the 1980 GF to the Bulldogs.
Sorry I got a little off track OP, some things just bring back memories.

I reckon even on that current site it used to be much bigger back in the day? I went there before going to the first game at the SFS in 1988. $1 a schooner was normal price. Back in those days and the 90s you'd go back after games and go to Shotz Pool Room upstairs and the players would be there. Then to Archie's later on...

Meh if you rent sure but if you own property in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney you are doing just fine.

And if you own property in the East and have a massive mortgage you are working your arse off to pay it.
