Couple of my mates over in NZ told me that we are rumoured to be in talks with former all black TJ Perenara... so I looked it up online and found this article aswell.

He'd be a good get. He has been in Aaron Smith's shadow for nearly a decade, been used mainly as a bench player for the All Blacks and that doesn't look like changing so it's understandable that he may look to a fresh challenge like the NRL. The last few years he has been really good, just a touch below Smith so he is high quality. His passing is world class and his support play is as good as Teddy's. Like any rugby halfback he knows the rules and is chirpy on the field

Of course it's a risk picking a player from a different sport but I think he's a good option. Won't let the team down, comes from the All Blacks winning culture. With Friend retired and Verrills injured hooker is a weak spot, but it won't be if we sign TJ

Unsure how we can afford him? Every all black earns around a mil, and he's been a staple of that team for multiple world cups, so he will be on a bit more than that.

Interesting, but some how don't see it happening unless he takes an enormous paycut.

I know most on here hate on Rugby.....but anyone who plays for the All Blacks are different beasts !!! Worth a shot if he is after a challenge as it's not the money that would bring him to league like others have mentioned

NZ Rugby is not open to signing him after his current stint in Japanese rugby is finished....the link states.

Never played league...is a worry.

I see it differently. Robbo still aiming for a premiership this year, but can't do it with Verrills playing 80 mins, or with Lussick as Verrills' interchange replacement.

I would expect TJ would take some of the $350k from Cordner's exemption which is good enough for 4 months' work. No doubt NRL will pro-rata it from our salary cap as they did for SBW so it would be closer to $200k for 4 months, and the full $350k deducted from our cap.

I was wondering how many people does Robbo have on the coaching staff - Fitzy/Kingy/Cayless full time - Part time in Cooper Cronk / Michael Cheika and Frederic Michalak (Former French fly half- 4 world cups) who was helping Keary until he was injured.

Does he have a place for an ideas man though

* Rotating Dummy Half
* Scorer kicks - didn't know who would be the kicker with that one
