Especially now that Keighran has a fractured eye socket - be out from 4 to 10 weeks depending if surgery is required.
        It’s the new Brett Papworth.

The heart of Cronk: Why the Roosters want All Blacks star TJ Perenara

            https://amp.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/the...21-p57l44.html

The article is very long, so I won’t post it here. It does say that former Wallabies half Will Genia asked TJ about the switch & he said he was “very keen”.

The Perenara deal is going to happen but first the 69-Test All Black needs to complete his Japanese rugby union commitments until May 23.

Then he’ll have to go through two weeks quarantine before joining the Chooks so realistically we won’t see Perenara playing in the NRL until mid-June at the earliest.

The Roosters are confident the rugby union halfback will make the transition to playing in the middle of the field in rugby league. Perenara will most likely become the Chooks no.14.
That little snap dude on here just jizzed his pants mun.

I listened to Brett Papworth last week on Talkin Sport when the story broke out and he was so negative about it stating that it's a different game and he's too old, blah blah blah and all of the arguments that come from people that really haven't taken the time to get educated about the real facts. Today he did a 180˚ and he was so positive about the move. I couldn't believe it. After reading this article, I'm sure that for some it still wont sink in. Thanks for posting the link.

                        • Anybody can do a quick YouTube search for him but his highlights are impressive...

                          https://youtu.be/tkpx8aUbfSU

VERY... very fast/fluid motions and has a great eye for where the ball's heading (lotsa freakish intercepts and stuff, which in my head suggests he's thinking multiple steps ahead of others + is good at reading plays).

Takes on the line too. While I'm no expert, I'd have thought that's even more meaningful in yawnion because every single tackle can lead to you being stripped. It's quite courageous seeing shots of him running in front of his team, in the face of the opposition and looking for holes/passes while doing so.

Nothing on his defence but people were talking up Benji. IMO this guy has much better ad-lib footy in him than Benji (and he's much younger too - could result in a 5+ year NRL career).

Also... some Kiwi rugby dudes (who seem to know their way around League) seem to back him...

                          https://youtu.be/Vne3VOAmDj8

(Dunno the guys but they seem quite balanced, noting that RTS would potentially do more damage against rugby forwards as they're not as fit...etc).

                          • I'd rather Jacob Little.

Fraction of any price tag we could offer and it absolutely dominating the SheEagles in the NSW cup atm.

                            Very impressive display so far.
