Think they are talking about round 14 to start with , so given it will take at least 5 or six games to settle learn and that's a big maybe , it's a complete waste of time .Blood the young fellows , enjoy the year the best we can because if everyone wants to be honest we aren't braking any trophies home this year

I don't think the season is lost just need to make some changes an adjust to the new game! We still have a gun team all healthy by round 15 i predict winning the comp from there!!

if TJ comes then trophy will come! Only needs to adjust to game plan an rolls! He's the best defending scrum half in the world, plays more Iike a 3rd flanker that's why he one of my favourite's in Rugby, 6ft,90kg quick an strong type of player

What a defeatist attitude after round 6.
The only young fellow I want to see ‘blooded’ now is Suaalii but anymore young fellows and we’ll quickly go from the top 4 to compete with the likes of the broncos and dogs. The fact that we’re interested in someone like TJ is because the club doesn’t want to shake hands with the bottom teams. I’m happy the club will think outside of the box to get results. Whatever happened to Trust in Trent?

              • I haven't written this season off. Not by far.
There are very few chances this year and it is only round 6.
Who knows who will get injuries to key players.
Of course our luck needs to change with injuries.
But if we have a full strength team less Keary and keep up with the Top 4 we can give it a crack.
As for TJ the guy is no doubt an elite union player still at the top of his game. He won't be here next year and I doubt Robbo would consider him if he didn't think his impact could bring us another premiership this year.
And I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes our 5/8.
He has the ball skills, speed and running game that could transition to 5/8 imo. With Walker calling the shots and TJ roaming around picking his moments could be the X factor we are missing.
The guy is an elite athlete and I think he can transition in quick time. That part doesn't concern me at all.
A spine of Teddy, TJ, Walker and Verrills would be one of the best spines in the comp.

Not defeatist at all , as said he may not get here till round 14 apparently , given our injuries and inexperienced players you are surely kidding yourself big you think we are playing for trophies .Were good but talk after the end of the season , we may make the finals but anything else is a bonus .Doesn't mean we can't beat some too teams and I suspect we will .As long as they have a dig I'll be happy , oh and flog the vermin

IMO you can only have a dig if you believe you can win.

Sure Friend and Keary are gone... but by round 15 we'll have Cords, Walker, Lam, Verrills, Lussick, Perenara and Keighran available for selection.

Can't see why we can't finish top-4 given that a busted Easts outfit that got absolutely r@ped by the refs held the Drizz tryless for 60 minutes.

The following team is top-4 material, and once you're top-4, you have a seeious roll of the dice come finals time...
                    1. Teddy
                    2. Toops
                    3. J-Moz
                    4. Manu
                    5. B-Moz
                    6. Walker (a 10+ game Walker)
                    7. Lam
                    8. SST
                    9. Perenara
                    10. Collins
                    11. Cords
                    12. Ccrichton
                    13. Rads

                    14. Verrills
                    15. JWH
                    16. Liu
                    17. Sitili

We just need to keep our PD competitive + win enough games to stay inside the 8 by round 15 and we're the business IMO!

Love how positive you are ism22, you are a true Roosters believer.
However, Cords and Perenara are big IF's at the moment.
But if that side came together at the end of the season , I agree, we would be giving the title a huge shake.
With that personnel in the side , and self belief, they could do anything.

                        • Is it known if he is coming or can actual play the 13 player game - I can watch a video on surgery but that doesn't make me a surgeon though.

Big ask to think he will make such a difference though - Better of sticking with SV/Freddy and Benny M

Its hard to imagine a highly rated All Black not having a positive impact though.

If he plays 14 we could potentially have a good service and attacking threat dummy half for 80 minutes, swapping with Sam. Could cope with shorter stints dee hopefully.

                            Whats not to luv?

Interesting that Storm pick many of their players including rejects like Addo-Carr and Papenhuyzen based on physical attributes (speed or size), and can convert them into NRL stars. Yet we apparently cannot convert an already talented all-blacks star into a bench utility.

I just remember other rugby halves the Chooks signed - Brian Smith/ Brad Burke and Ken Wright - It maybe different but still to learn a new game in a short time frame is a big ask one has to say.

Not sure of his aspirations in Rugby going forward or if he could return to Rugby next year having played League so if he does come is it just for this season or will he be after a multi year deal with more coin in the subsequent year(s).
