I have a feeling TJ is being bought over to play 6 as opposed to 9..

Obviously as the season goes on possible injury may dictate otherwise but I just feel the initial thought is to partner him with SW!

In saying that I won’t be surprised if he’s eased in off the bench as mentioned by others who on here..

I saw an article where SBW mentioned he thought he would be 'fusion' player in the NRL.

Nah Sam isn't going to be ready to play 80 minutes every week for the rest of the season. This dude might be able to play #6 as well.

If he can play 6 then yeah maybe but is it our intention to buy him just from round 14 or is he coming to league and the Roosters long term . Really don't understand big it's only this year .I'm sorry but I see no way we win the comp this year anyway, being realistic .

I would hope he is a long term prospect but I have no idea. I don't watch rugby and admit I know nothing about Perenara.

After watching a few vids of him he is a natural league half for sure or and Hooker move the young fella Walker to 5/8th for a year or two to avoid getting punished .

Don’t remember him kicking any goals - prolific try scorer for the all blacks and super rugby - tries are worth more than goals even in rugby union!

He’s not a goal kicker, Barrett and Mo’unga have been the Canes’ kickers for a while.

I thought similar around his position, seems to be a lot of assumptions that he will just be a dummy half. With the way the game is going I wouldn't be surprised if Robinson was looking at him as a lock forward to rotate with Radley.

His distribution is great and he's very skilful, it would allow us to continue what Radley does so well over the whole 80 minutes and have some genuine cover if we had to play without Radley again instead of having to stick a yardage forward in that position.

The game is changing and Robinson may be a step ahead again. It was noticeable just how far ahead of the other NRL forwards SBW was when be returned from Union from a ball playing skill perspective, the most valuable commodity at the moment with the new speed of the game is a lock forward who can ball play to the extent where Benji Marshall and Connor Watson are being used there in games.

For the $$ being mentioned at the moment I think it's a great risk to take especially given where we are at right now!

Sure it will be exciting to see how he goes but not at the expense of the development of real prospects who could be here long term.

If he was going to sign I’d like to see him commit to next year too. Or would we be better of using this money towards a league player?

13, I tend to agree with you. It was fine with SBW as we knew what we were getting but this seems a big risk.
I will trust in Trent and it will raise a lot of cross code interest from across the ditch.
