Mini wants to play on until he is 35+ ... god help us.
i actually agree with ism mini didnt have a bad year last year, he did make soo, he did slow down further but he might look very good running off breaks from sbw? then again he might look even better in a uk super league jersey? depends how our back up fbacks go this year?
Well that's a bone of contention. Mini will never be what he was 8 years ago - but he is a one club long time rooster. He has achieved amazing things for this club. He wants to keep playing. What do we do? Who do we have at our disposal in our player ranks at the moment who would spank it at fullback to justify telling Mini to piss off? Add to the debate the very real fact that we do not have a realistic chance of winning the premiership this year. I mean, I love Anasta as a player, leader, tough competitor too. But do I wish Carney was still our 5/8, and that he didn't give the club no option but to sack him? Of course i do.
Just my opinion. And you never know, Mini might just surprise with his form this year. He looks amazingly ripped.
Mate the part in bold is emotive crap.. Dally Messenger would be a long long time Rooster if he still wanted to play.. Players have to understand if they want to keep playing when their standards are not what they once were that they have to be judged on performance eventually. You just cannot keep re-signing and picking players because they are club legends. Eventually you have to make a call.
As to who we have in our ranks, that is an issue but the greater issue is that it should have been fixed by now and we should have actively recruited someone a bit more ready in the past couple seasons. Can't keep looking in the rearview mirror. I know he looks ripped but he did last season too.. You can walk into the gym and see guys who are ripped but it does not mean they have the speed or agility to play NRL. I agree there is probably still none better under the higher ball but he offers next to nothing in attack these days and we need speed badly and at fullback it is extremely important.

With your insight and knowledge maybe you should become recruitment officer and coach.
Much like Clint Eastwood has (hopefully) hung up the acting boots, I think its time for Mini to leave the Roosters. If one in breath people are saying that they are willing to accept Sonny Bill Williams at 700,000 a season (a guy who walked out on the Bulldogs) but then say that we should keep Mini (whose prime was 5 years ago) until he decides to retire then hypocrisy is too soft a word to use.
He didn't play bad. He was steady. But steady aint going to make line breaks from the back. Sorry Mini, piss off overseas and play to 100 for all I care.
Why all the Mini hate? I really don't get that. He's a club legend. Have some respect. Obviously not the player he was but he still goes ok. There are a lot of sheep on this forum. A few people start bagging him then everyone joins in and he becomes a figure of hate and it becomes not much to do with what he's doing on the field. Last year he went ok, everyone was just bagging the guy because it became the thing to do.
I understand the Braith hate, I understood the Finch hate back in the day but not Mini, lay off the guy he doens't deserve that.
