Braith Anasta and how he will influence the success or failure of 2012

braith is not the best 5/8 in the game by a long shot and i think him and pearce really dont work well together as neither one can take the game on and make the difference. Also im happy we bought maloney as he offers alot more, however i do like braith. He loves our club and treats it with respect which is more i can say for that carney kid.
He is our captain and i will support him this year. I think he has never got the support at the club to full fill his potential. He came to the club after the brad fittler years and was never going to be as good as freddy was for us. No one will.
He is a good leader but after this year i cant see him making the side

Neither of our halves can throw quality balls to put players through holes.
Pearce was trying to do it after his origin stint but it didn't come naturally to him.
Coupled with a fullback that is way past his use by date, and with no natural ball skills, we would have one of the worst 1, 6 and 7 combinations in the NRL.
Looking forward to Maloney, SBW and a quality fullback in 2013.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

Anasta's influence is a very good point or topic to raise.
Problem is that he doesn't really have any real influence.
Look at our record ever since he joined our club and has been our five eight. Over many years - when he has been our five eight - we have had a losing record.
A losing record.
That's the indisputable fact.
Thats over 3 separate coaches.
One of those years we finished second last. Another we finished last.
Even under his 4th coach at our club - with him at five eight for about the first half of 2010 (with carney at fullback), my recollection is that for that period we only had around a 50% win/loss record.
It's not like he's a young kid either. He's been an experienced, very well paid player playing in one of the most vital key positions in a footy team.

That said, they could spell talent. Talent beats loyalty in the money stakes.

No excuses for hollywood...
Positives
He's got his fav position back
He's surrounded by talent
He's playing for his future
Great captain who leads with passion, refs seem to be patient with him
Golf is no longer his priority (or shoudn't) following failure last year
Not so postives
10m out options are normally horrific
Sometimes kicks with no chasers following up
Useless from the right side of ruck, cant pass
Too predicatable & therefore easily read by the opposition
Network commentator duties are a draining distraction
He's a drama queen & can lose focus when attempting the hollywood
Covers up his mistakes by blaming other players & yelling at them
5 from 10"Qui audet adipiscitur"
