I love how these threads bagging individual players come back to bite the poster. It's a TEAM game, they are all out there trying their guts out, and while they do that I will support them. If you want to bag any player then come up with a PROVEN better alternative.

People forget that he's still only 23 years old.

Nat Butcher's prime 6-7 years are about to begin and I hope they're all spent at the Roosters.

      Excellent footballer and teammate.

I'd rate Butch ahead of someone like Jake Trbojevic who seems to get picked for reps somehow.

im not convinced butcher will be a great. but i firmly believe he will be an important part of our fg squad moving forward for the next 4 to 5 years.

he will play the odd spectacular game like friday, but this i do not think will be his norm. will always operate at between a 6 /10 to 8/10 every week. not much diff between his best and worst, which robbo will love .

not that i want to lose him,but teams like the tigers and dogs should be chasing guys like butch, finucane, momoroski , yea they are not always world beaters, but they will rarely let you down .

          just my 2 cents.

It's hard to believe that he is still that young when it feels like he has been around forever, same with Joey Manu

on topic, always been a fan of Butch he has a sneaky turn of pace in his game evident by a try he scored against Brisbane last year

True. Butcher has been more improved recently and a lot more consistent so I suppose I have to cut him some slack and praise him for his good play and hopes he does become a diamond.

A nice read to start the finals. Some never learn.

For 20 years it’s been the same people bashing roosters players, some even give up on the team 4 weeks in to a premiership winning season, others wanted Robbo gone in 2016/17. If nothing else it’s great entertainment to read back on because it almost always bites people in the butt

Nah I cant agree with that. N Butch is good but J Trbojevic is better.

To be honest I thought & tipped the Roosters would come 5th or 6th this year before the comp started & have thought since Rd 3 this year that we definitely couldn't win the comp.
In regards to any team beating any team it can happen, I agree that at full strength the top 6 sides are ahead of the rest but on the odd occasion the 8th team can beat the 1st team, the bounce of the ball, the impossible ball that sticks, the kick that is perfect 40-20, everything go's your way, Ive seen it. I believe this weekends finals will have 1 winner from the bottom 4.

There’s nothing wrong with predicting the team to come 5th or 6th it’s when people start shitting on and bagging the team that makes me wonder why some people are even here. We’ve had a season where the entire team has done it tough this year and everyone has stood up but still people want to bag the guys, makes no sense.

This last 8 years have been immense and something that’s unlikely to be repeated for a long time but still there’s negativity. We’ve won 3 premierships since the Tigers last made the top 8 so I’m not sure why there’s so much bagging of certain players.

When is Butch expected back from injury? Must be close now?

But if he’s back this week would you select
him ahead of his brother? Many here would say no, but IMHO I think Robbo regards Nat so highly and knows that solid defense is needed to win play off games, and will select him if available.
