Think back to our successes over the years. It was always when we paired up good running halves (Carney, Maloney, Keary). Each time we paired with an impotent running half (Anasta, Hastings, Flanagan) we ended up underperforming.

In my view they don't need to sign PJP with Verrills back and Lussick and Benny M and Lam if not playing 5/8 as alternate 14's
Robbo lost all faith in him by midway through the season and thought Lam was a better option.
The dogs are realising now that Flanagan is a very average halfback and not up to NRL standard.
Walker has proved he's a far superior player in less than a handful of games, we pulled the right reign offloading flanno.

We have other options and Keighran is one of them. He has not been given his shot at 5/8 yet. He has not really had a shot anywhere because of his injuries. And prior to the announcement of TJ I would have hoped that Keighran was given his shot. It may surprise many but until he has a shot none of us know whether he will be a better option or not. TJ is another level imo but you again question Robbo's motives about signing another superstar. Based on history your opinion against Robbo's recruitment policy gives me great confidence that he has once again made the correct decision. Let's hope we get TJ so we can get on our way at giving the title another shot.

Not super talented. Not expensive. Great enthusiasm. Gives 100%. Has errors and attracts bad luck in his plays like the ankle tap. You ride his successes and feel his letdowns. You’d want him next to you in the trenches.
I think eventually Manu will slot into 5/8 and take Hutch’s starting spot. I see Hutch being ideal off the bench because he can play 2nd row, halves and centre if need be.

Teams don't have two running halves as one is always more of an organsing half as it confuses the attack as who does the dummy half pass the ball to if both are running halves and each demanding the ball.- get in each others way and over play their hand in attack.
Two narrow finals defeats had naught to do with not having two running halves though or one not taking the line on - 28 unanswered points vs Penrith ( up 10 -0 and lose 29-28 ) and 16 unanswered points vs Raiders ( down 16 nil and lose 22-18) - defence cost those games - Raiders game Chooks had a number of opportunities in the second half but couldn't nail them.

If he can get in injury free run at his best position (6) we should see some real improvements. Has had no time or continuity there yet. Was our first choice this year don't forget, for a reason.
Hutcho has the position for the season if his current form continues.
