Brett was very upset the other night because he saw the end of this chapter in his life like most would when they move to another job. from a job they have loved. You see it all the time big tough guys in tears announcing their retirements, however I am sure that by the next day he would have sense a big relief of not having to do that again. A big weight of his shoulder and now he can work on getting this injury fixed and has a lot of time to reflect and really give it a big thought of what he will be doing next year. He will also appreciate what he has achieved and how lucky he was to have done all that but most of all be happy that he is well looked after at the Roosters and also loved by the league community because what you see, hear and read about him is all positive.

Time to be happy for Brett and lets get behind Josh!

we were very lucky to have him at all. motm in the gf v canberra.
amazing that he was in close to career best form this season. incredible. he'll be a big loss but on the other side of the coin he could easily have retired after last year so we were lucky to have him for the first third of the season.
moving forward, he has a chance to serve a coaching apprenticeship this year. get his op done, rehab at a comfortable pace and sit with robbo in the coaches box, soak it all in, and give whatever tips he can to the boys

Chooks would be crazy not to have him in some role at the club going forward as they will for have for Friend. I don't see him playing again as ACL's are 12 months - Not sure about Josh's intentions but that may have made up his mind that this is his last year too?.

Anyway they need to now focus on Parramatta this Friday so whoever comes in for Collins and BMorris and possibly Sitili if suspended just has to do their job. Nothing out of the ordinary or try to copy the player they are replacing - play their way and to their capabilities.

All players as individuals and as a a team need to work hard and lift their efforts at training and in games as they are not out of contention - Injuries are a occupational hazard in any sport especially in contact sports so despite being a real downer emotional on Saturday Night they need to get back on the horse as they say.

What an awesome thread, great reading, I was at the game then went home and watched the emotional dressing room with a tear in my eye.

I was in awe of his efforts in the RWB and right up until his last game - with the way he set up Iku and then Walker - I was jumping up and down at his exploits as much as I ever have during a Roosters game.

Brett is easily the best winger I've ever seen and he's the sort of character you build clubs around so I sincerely hope he stays on in some capacity.
2019 Grand Final performance was outstanding. Easily MoM.

Absolute champion. What a great career and like a lot of champions still had greatness in him when many had written him off. People wrote off Tiger and Federer. They both came back to win grand slam titles as "old men". Brett came back and won a GF with us. Its funny to think such shit clubs as St.George and the Bulldogs felt they were better off without him

The honour is all ours. What a pleasure it has been watching you in our colours.

Was a villain for so many years in my mind after THAT infamous try in the 2010 Grand Final.

Always respected how he played especially during those years in a terrible Dogs team but never imagined he would one day turn into my favorite player and eventually a Roosters hero.

Saved his best for last, the last 3yrs has been above every other winger in a comp. He may have scored 33 tries in 40 games but I reckon has saved even more.

I'm absolutely shattered if this is the end as we will not be able to replace what he brings to the team.

What a player. Imagine if this team could win it this year and deliver Josh his premiership. Now that would be a fairytale.

Anyone see the high shot on Lindsay Collins when he did his knee? Think it was Safiti, came late into the tackle and hit him high, then the knee goes. Was it missed or they just don't care?

I think that in both his try scoring and saving ability he may have influenced the score board more than any other player. He would have saved 100’s on his wing and he scored so prolifically.

The best winger I’ve ever seen, he had it all.

Had a dream last night Bmoz is having another crack next year. Taking a year off to heal his injury and spending time with family then sign up next year before June deadline for the last campaign...

You're right about that but from now on, or maybe since Cronk retired, how many times are we going to be saying that?

JWH announces his retirement: We want him to stay in some coaching role
Cordner announces his retirement: We want him to stay in some coaching role
Toupo announces his retirement: We want him to stay in some coaching role
and on and on...Pretty soon we will have the whole 2013, 2018 and 2019 team working out as assistant coaches.

Will go back and take a look at that.
