are taking no big chances on us. Since drifting out to 10.00 after losing Keary, we have firmed each week since, despite continuing and mounting serious injury toll. So these guys who back up their opinions with money think we're still more of a chance than many of us...

    Melbourne Storm

    South Sydney Rabbitohs

If the Roosters beat the squeels this round, I wonder if their respective positions on the betting line will change. Either way, that's quite a vote of confidence by the bookies.

I would put us ahead of Parra.

At full strength, I can't see who'll stop the Riff this year.

I actually feel more comfortable playing Storm than Riff/Souffs.

Eels are the new Souffs. They blow their wad in the first part of the season again and again. Pretenders.

For sure. Eels are priced to make the top 4 ahead of us despite having a tougher draw at backend of season. They are expected to beat us this week.

I wouldnt take the Chooks even at 20 to 1 unless Penrith, Melbourne, Souths & Parra all lose both their halves.
I feel the Chooks can still be competitive but I know when finals footy comes around those 4 teams mentioned (maybe not Parra) have the big guns in the trump position & with all due respect to SW those other much more experienced halves will get over him come finals time. Thats only my opinion.

I reluctantly agree with you. But I think folks are running scared a little of SW. After all he's doing all this 4 games into his career - you'd have to think it's more likely he'll be even better come finals time.

For anyone who likes a punt on the footy or anything else...open an account with Betfair. You'll never bet with the TAB again and you'll feel a little sorry for anyone that does

Even with the 10% commission on winnings charged on NRL betting (most sports and most racing is 6%) you'll still get better odds every time.

As an example, Parramatta for the premiership $7.66 compared to $7.00 above. Roosters $8.20 compared to $7.50 above. On weekly match and live betting the differences are even greater.

One never knows as many times the best team on paper and favourites to win have run second- Anything can happen in 80 minutes of footy - if one team puts it all together on the day /night they can win the game against any opponent.

I'm in the Big Jack Gibson camp of betting though " Never bet on anything that eats"

Yeah the Riff just don't lose ay!!!

IMO the Drizz are beatable. We had the right attitude last time we played them, but didn't come up with the right clutch plays.

We'll get another chance later on. IMO the current playing group has a great attitude and it's starting to gel. Next to B-Moz in the Newie changerooms I saw Suaalii as the one guy who B-Moz was talking to + sharing emotions with other than his twin brother. If I remember rightly Robbo sat close to him (in a circle)... then J-Moz... then Suaalii.

99% of winning is attitude. As we've seen with Walker, losing Keary isn't the end of the world. B-Moz has been great but I doubt any team wants to be against us when Suaalii makes his debut.

Correct. The money already bet on the roosters prior to the injury carnage acts as a buffer to a wild blowout in odds.

But we are still shorter than you'd expect even allowing for that. And the Walker unknown factor (ie just how much better he might get) is in play.

Parra ahead of us in the betting. How insulting. Will be another 50 years before they win anything.
