The commentators (including Cronk - who was full of love) were talking about how he's upped his game significantly this year, including the technical aspects. They raised serious questions about where Cords will play when he returns. Forget what Cronk said but he's highly impressed by how Gus' game has developed in multiple ways.
IMO he's more than just a workhorse and his technical game just keeps improving.Last edited by ism22; 05-16-2021, 03:10 PM.

All on track boys.
A clear 5th place on the ladder with a 4 point gap between us and the seagullls.
We are top 3 in the comp for point differential- considering our massive injury toll that is outstanding.
As predicted already, a Chooks grand final appereance is well on track as predicted.
Baker has come along perfectly as predicted to fill our gap in among the bookends.
Get excited lads......

Hear me and hear me well...
2 months since my last post, nothing has changed.
We are a clear 5th on the ladder and we ARE a contender.
Our lads go out there every week intending to win.
They don't care about the injury list. They don't care that the team is stacked with wet behind the ears youngsters.
This year is JWHs finest moment. The year a Rooster old boy drags the team by the scruff of the neck, supported by the wizardry of Teddy, and leads them to victory against the odds.
2022 will be a victory for the ages gentlemen. Arguably the greatest sporting achievement in the history of Australian domestic sport.
Only Covid can stop us now...

This year more than ever the Roosters have showed unbelievable resilience, heart & soul.
I go back to the late 70's as a keen supporter & ive never seen an injury toll as bad as this. Can anyone remember any year like it??
Im content no matter what happens from here on....the boys will give it their best shot

The Roosters are playing with a team made up of players who were two or three years away from playing first grade. The fact that they are in with a shot is a credit to them for their resilience and fortitude. The Cowboy's came within a w̶h̶o̶r̶e̶'s guest of Api Korosaiu's hair of beating the Storm. Any team can beat any other team on any day. As long as the nucleus of the team (Teddy, JWH, Crighton, Rads, Walker and Hutchison) stay together, they're in with a chance.
BUT FOR THE LOVE OF FREDDY WE NEED A GOALKICKER.

But there is a silver lining my friends.
No one expects us to win. The pressure is off the team for the first time in eons.
We've got buckets of talent remaining in the squad.
JWH & SST - the best props in the competition. I wouldn't swap them for anyone
CORDS - the great man will be back this year, adding starch and invaluable leadership and respect among the playing group. They'll know this is his last year and will be doing everything to send him (and Friendy) out winners
RADLEY - What more needs to be said? Pound for pound the toughest player in the NRL, and with ball playing skills to boot.
WALKER - Just one of the those natural freaks (like Carney, Thurston, Johns) he is just a natural at playing footy and creating. Watch him ride the confidence all the way to the big dance this year.
TEDDY - The games no.1 fullback and support player in the comp, hands down.
VERRILS - out for a few weeks, but will be back. Absolutely tore it up upon his return from a year out. Top class service and dummy half running.
J'ORRIS - bucketloads of experience and proven talent at the highest levels. A world class outside back even on his poor days. Watch him take a bolder leadership role from hereon.
CRIGHTON - one of the games premier second rowers and leaders. Articulate, uncompromising, creative. A unique set of talents. We are lucky to have the man.
BAKER - I might have knocked this guy before he played a game (mainly he looks like the result of a pregnancy if Cameron Smith - Kyle Flanagan had procreated), but trust me. This guy is every bit as good as Collins. He will kill it this year.
also.....
FIFITA...not Daniel, ANDREW FIFITA is a chance at joining us this year. I maintain that aside from breifly under Flanagan, he has never had good coaching and discipline. Robbo, Cords and JWH will sort out his attitude and he'll be a monster. Tis a rumour, but there is enough smoke that i'm convinced there is fire.
also....
The greatest coach in modern history, the one and only TRENT " ESCARGOT " ROBINSON.
Penners, we are in this up to our necks.
The PANTHERS, STORM, RABBITS and EELS are our only GENUINE competition. Everyone else is making up the numbers.
Strap it, get excited, and whip our boys home.
Mark this down as an ' I told ya so' post. We will be in the GF this year, and it will be against one of the 4 aforementioned teams.
The Storm were far from impressive last night.

I haven't given up, they've got the heart to do it!....just not putting my house on it. My doctor surprised me yesterday by saying he was a Souffs supporter and had no doubt they will win the comp this year.....will have to double-check where that diploma he's got on the wall came from!
