I got on The Chooks to win the GF yesterday paying $19. Dare to dream.

You have to have 2 halves that have played rep footy & a hooker or FB that has played rep footy to win the comp.
Hughes Munster, Cleary Luai & Reynolds Walker are at another level compared to the Chooks halves this year. The semi finals this year will be a lesson for Sammy for future years & when he's peaking playing at 88 to 90kg with other quality Roosters players around him the comps will come but not this year.

Only $50, it was a bonus bet I got back from Sportsbet. The price dropped to $13 after we beat Parra. About 20 years ago I used to regularly have $500 on a footy game. Biggest win I ever had was back in 2002, I had $500 on the Roosters to win the GF when they were paying $20, so a $10000 result, that was awesome Biggest bets I ever had was $5000 at 5 to 1 on us to win the GF in 2003...and $5000 at 5 to 1 in 2004.... those were disappointing but I was earning over $150K a year back then. I used to drive down to Sydney regularly between 2004 and 2008 and play poker in games where there was often $2000 to $5000 in the pot in one hand. I retired in 2013, so no regular income for 8 years, just living on my investments, which is going quite well but I rarely bet over $100 on a game now.

My tip for the Grand Final is Melbourne v Souths.
The reason I think that is because I think those 2 teams have the best spines. Both those teams have players playing in the spine that are Internationals & SOO players.
The luxury for Melbourne is they have 6 spine players that are Internationals or SOO players. Souths would need the luck on the day to beat them.

Thinking it will be Storm v Panthers . Unfortunately cant see anyone beating Storm . Luckily we won the b2b first

The Rose Bay Medical Centre had a Souths flag hanging in Reception for a while there a few years ago. Thank goodness I work from home now and don't actually have to walk past there on my way home from the ferry now. I don't know if it's still there or not. No wonder my Roosters fan doctor moved to Double Bay over a decade ago now. I actually said to her is that why you left that practice? . I remember saying in another thread years ago my doctor, dentist and hairdresser are all Roosters fans. If anyone is coming near me with scissors, drills or needles, they have to be Chooks fans. I never give up either on thinking we can win another grand final. Only fans of mediocre teams have that mindset.

Inclined to agree with the proviso that Cody W and the Hooker are in the side and fit. They are putting it together nicely atm.

The Chooks remind me of the 2010 team that got into the zone about this stage and just couldn't be beat except for that stew of a GF when Carney was well marked and MIA as a result.

If Jazza goes for a week, however, the dream might end against the Pamfers on Fursday, Cleary out or not.

Our Attack is just as good as the Panthers.

It's our Defence is where it's been falling down.

With Jarrod, I'd really back us to win this weekend.

Without him, i'm 50/50 about our prospects this week.

Regardless, it doesn't matter. As the Roosters will be in the Grand Final in 2021.

                                So you should.

                                An astute move.

As long as Teddy and JWH can stay on the park, we are going all the way baby...

                                How do i know?

I've watched a shit tonne of footy in my time and I am a very astute analyst.

What sets us apart? Our boys REALLY play for each other. They are a really tight unit, and our team and coaching leadership command total and utter respect among our young guns. They have totally bought in. That is more important than individual talent let me tell you (although we just happen to have that as well).

We've got the right guys at the top - what a bunch of mentors our lads have - Uncle Nick, Robbo, Cronk, Fitzy, Cords, Friendy, BMoz....even the likes of SBW & Mini also stopping by on occasion. Imagine being a young player and being taken under their wing. Where else would you rather be in the world of RL as a talented young footy player? Nowhere else, and thats a fact.

Our lads are turning up every week really backing each other and really believing they can do it, regardless of the odds and regardless of reputations.

Only the Storm and the Panthers are close to our level in this regard.
