In keeping with not wanting to pervert the course of justice, I will elliptically say that if current events do not go a certain way then Peter Beattie will be responsible for a large cheque being written to a person with whom he may have acted erroneously.

I would also advise anyone else from not discussing current events related to Rugby League which are not game related.

I was just reading the eels forums keen to see what they had to say after the game.

Not really as ball control was poor - set completion 67% - 22/33 - tackles in opposition 63-8 - controlling the ball and set completions gives you the field position - Chooks were not able to put sustained pressure on the Parra defence due to poor ball control and set completions rate. - it was a winnable game i think he was alluding to - effort was there but the application/exeecution was lacking.

Need to prep well for the next game vs the Cows as it's magic round in Brisbane -Sat May 15 9 TV game @ 7:45 pm- hopefully no more magic round after this as it's been done and dusted - Leagueathon lasted only 2 years - 1977/1978

Butcher only missed 6 tackles- 92% tackle efficiency- highest in the team. He will sleep well tonight and deserves to...as does BM & JWH

Yes, Uncle Nick should've given him the company cheque book...and told him to let 'em have it, from the refs to V'landys, Abdo, and the NRL Commission.
They're the ones presiding over it all.
They're the ones EMPLOYING THE REFEREESand BUNKERITES, and PAYING THEM.
High tackles, shoulder charges, knees in the back, "nothing" done...our players bashed out of the game.
It was Teddy recently.
It happens every game...short, sharp forearms to the heads of our players in tackles as they're going down.
The faces and heads of our players attacked when they're on the ground,...thugs love attacking Cordner's head especially.
I started a thread about it here last season.
It happens every game.
Then there's the clear seemed BIAS against our team.
Parra 6 set restarts in the first 60 mins...Roosters NONE.
6 to 1 after 80 mins.
Roosters should've received at least TEN.
It seems to bb-ilk that thuggery is king at this time in the NRL, when teams are playing the Roosters they seem to basically be able to THUG away with almost impunity.
The little older lady who sits in the recliner, by the end of last night's game, having watched the thuggery inflicted on her players, was calling for our club to employ thugs to combat the thugs in other teams who are bashing our players out of games.
I agree with her.

Walker really needs a breather. He is on a steeper learning curve than any 18 year old debutant should ever have to be subjected to. A one or two week break would be ideal ATM.

A breather? He’s an NRL player. Unless injury prevents him from being able to take the field than he plays.

Exceptionally proud of the boys, gave it a big shove against the odds and some awful officiating.

Ikuvalu was monumental.

Being at the game it was a treat to watch Sam Walker live and how he moves around the park including in defence .

Feel for Hutch big time, another tough watch....just hope he's ok.

Cartwright's eyes were glazed over I reckon Parra will cop a fine for not bringing him off for a hia.

He was stumbling as much as Victor was yet he was allowed to stay on and shake it off. I'm sure Victor could have done the same thing but he followed the rule. Unfortunately it's becoming a procession of apologies every week from Annersly on how the officials keep getting it wrong and it's no comfort for the other club who were denied justice to play in an even playing field. There shouldn't be a fine because they have enough resources to pay it. It should be a question of docking the points and then teams will not try and circumvent around the rules on matters that the game has been very vocal against.

What is so Magic about next week’s round? We have to give up a home game for the sake of making PVL and his cronies feel good about themselves. What is the point? Why can’t home teams play in front of their fans instead of Broncos supporters? Am I the only one who thinks this is a case of ‘emperor’s new clothes’ syndrome? People in the media are talking it up because they think they need to. Nobody thinks this is a good idea. Thinks of the potential knee injuries on a ground that has 8 games played on it over 3 days. We are the 5th game. If we have any serious knee and leg injuries (like we don’t have enough) we should have our lawyers ready to go after PVL and his imbeciles. Oh that makes me sad. Now I'm definitely not watching it. I'm not a fan of this generation of Parra players at all. They are nothing like my childhood team of the likes of Brett Kenny, Mick Cronin, Steve Ella etc..so glad I chose my own team when I got older. One of my late uncles was a jockey and he told me to always run my own race..now I know what he meant..

Yes but the big ideas man (2 point field goal) could have said this is a stupid idea. Instead he has embraced it as his own. It probably crossed his mind to make second half tries worth 5 points during Stupidity Round.
