looked like a possible syndesmosis injury to me - may not be as bad as the normal ones which sometimes require surgery - 6 to 8 weeks minimum if so - i would doubt he will be right to play next week even thiough he finished the game - it's when they cool down the damage is known - maybe precautionary the moon boot - but usually that means some games missed

    • We were down by 6 points with 10 minutes left in the game, that alone is remarkable considering everything that went against us..

I still think as the season goes on if we can get some important players back we are specials for a top 4 spot, or at worst case 5th position and a home semi against 8th spot..

Although we have been ravaged by injury it looks like Robbo has used it to his advantage to galvanise the team and preach an us against them mentality..

It seems to be working as the boys are playing with all heart!

      • And another thing..

        I don't like Wankbest Stadium
        - loud shitty 'music' before and during the game
        - low alcohol dishwater to drink
        - grey dreary seating and aspect
        - and worst that awful high incline seating that hits those with vertigo etc.

I get the design engineering aspect of house more people closer, build up rather than out...but its not a good experience for most.

I pray our new stadium is not a carbon copy. #sfsforever

        • Ok a few things: 1. What really gets me is that Magic Round it’s an away game for the Ponies. 2. Sam will play next week being in Brisbane. 3. Hate the way Gutherson and Moses appeal to the ref constantly. 4. The ref telling Moses to ‘calm down’ at one stage 5. Souths will get the benefit of Brown and the other nufty missing. 6. We play them at the SCG next time we will put 30 on them. So proud.

I think they might rest Walker against the Cows and have a Lam/Keighran combo in the halves.
Poor Sam needs a rest. It’s almost cruel that he’s playing out there with a busted shoulder. But he’s a tough little bugger and showing us just how determined and competitive he is. He’s going to be a star for us for years to come.

If you didn't know any better, you would have to think something else is at play here. I am not into conspiracy theories, but you have to wonder sometimes after a night like this one.
If there was a conspiracy I’d say it was gambling. The roosters are expected to win almost all their games so an upset pays heaps. The efforts to create an upset are enormous - 6 agains, penalties, sin bins and not penalising the opponents or giving us 6 agains when they lay all over us and not putting on report or sin binning players who are sending our players to hospital. What to make of these things if they are consistently happening week in week out? It looks very bad when we are sin binned but our opponents are not. And please name one other team which is being treated like this.

No worries Milanja, with all the angst and drama of last night it’s easy to make a mistake like that. I feel a bad loss coming soon after all the emotion and the multitude of obstacles thrown the team’s way recently. We’ll then get the predictable shock horror media headlines about the boil over Roosters loss to some lowly placed team with no consideration whatsoever for the fact we’re missing half our squad. Meanwhile the poor vermin are ‘ravaged’ by injuries.

Lam's back, right? I think I heard Robbo saying that COVID was all that prevented him (not 100% sure why, but I guess he's come from outside the bubble as an i jured player or something?)

                  • I thought it was a cracker of a game.
I didnt think the Chooks were going to win last night so Im not that disappointed but I am so proud of how they played, Parra's team was a massively big bodied team so to watch the Chooks last night under the pump tackling their arses off was heart warming. The Chooks have got to many outs (Keary being the main one) to win the comp even if Cordner comes back. The game last night was a like a semi final & when it comes semi finals this year against full strength Melbourne, Penrith, Souths & Parra the Chooks wont be able to match them unfortunately. The Chooks at full strength which is not going to happen could match those teams. Thats footy.

Trust me all one eyed supporters from every club feel their team is getting the rough end of the pineapple.
A mate of mine who go's for Souths reckons the NRL & the refs are out to get Souths. Seriously.
The butcher I go to who is a Tigers fan feels the NRL & the refs are out to get the Tigers.
My Bulldogs mate thinks the same about the Bulldogs.
                      I dont know.

I thought it was a great game too. I can’t often
admit that after a loss but the courage shown by our guys was immense.

                        • So the NRL has “axed” the bunker moron for missing hutcho getting injured ...just for this round!.....can you imagine the shit a CCTV operator would get in if he missed an assault that produced the same injury? ...he wouldn’t just miss a shift I reckon

Normally I agree, but not in this case. He has shoulder problems already and something wrong with his hip. He needs to be astutely managed. It is harder to do this at the moment with so many injuries, granted, but we need to be particularly careful. We don't want to jeopardise his long term development for short term gain, especially if we cannot realistically challenge for the premiership.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Yes that's what I was saying in the other threads about if this happened in any other industry or an assault took place on a worksite, this wouldn't be over. I still say there is more to come on this in the coming weeks. Times have changed and people have different expectations now.

                              • I was gutted but proud. We had plenty go against us, errors trying to push the pass etc, but the effort and heart was outstanding. Losing Rads was a killer blow. I reckon Bunny and Artie would have loved watching that game.
