As long as he’s fit and he really doesn’t want a rest I would leave it up to him with option of a week or two off. If he feels he needs a break I would give him a week or two.

IMO on a daily basis he'd be doing power lifting in the gym (looks small but pound for pound his strength would be of the elite), passing the ball around as if it's a game and tackling/wrestling big boys. He looks small but he's getting stronger every week and I reckon playing 1st grade is gonna fast-track his physical development. I'd say that having a few weeks off to go fishing with his dad up in Brissy's more likely to give him an injury through a freak accident or something (FWIW part of my NSWIS contract was that I would refrain from various non-essential physical activities).Last edited by ism22; 05-12-2021, 12:12 PM.

Yeah mate the kid has had such a tough life ,so hard ..pretend to be at school plays sport ..all week gets a multi contract ..Im sure he need a 6 month holiday to recover from such hard ship .
Only genuine injury puts him out not a bad blow wave. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

Also Sammy lives and breaths footy and I highly doubt he would want to sit out unless physically incapable..

one week here or there to stop them from being physically unable to in the future, even if its against the wishes of the player for their own good.
boyd cordner got no rests at a young age, and he's now the physical embodiment of an injury

But I don’t think an 18 year old Sam Walker needs to be rested at this stage of his career unless he is carrying an injury that stops him from playing..
That’s just my opinion however and I’m sure Robbo will make the right call irrespective of what you and I think!

Ronald Volkman or even Jesse Marschke needs to be called up. Use either of them with Lam in the halves which will give Walker a rest for a few weeks otherwise promote Manu to #6, Lam to #7 and blood Suaalii in or find another outside back from the Bears if the Roosters are still hesitant and if the NRL will allow it of course.
For example from the Bears: Brad Abbey or Sione Hopoate.
We need to maintain continuity and stay close and competitive to the top 4 but NOT at the risk of further damage to Sam Walker who will be a long-term #7 for us. The risk right now isn’t worth the reward !Last edited by DP1990; 05-25-2021, 11:29 AM.
