Robbo seemed to indicate Sam's doing well and should be right to play in the presser. Although he also said sualli is ready to play and is very close so who knows

Let him rest at training not the games.

The guy would be living on cloud 9, imagine how good his life would be walking around Bondi giving every little hot chickie babe a nice smile or wave, he would have them lining up & playing FG NRL in the trump position for the Mighty Roosters would just top it off. I would love to be Sam Walker.

one week here or there to stop them from being physically unable to in the future, even if its against the wishes of the player for their own good.

boyd cordner got no rests at a young age, and he's now the physical embodiment of an injury
Easy mate he is only brain dead

He doesn't need a rest from training, he needs a rest from games where he is under huge pressure to perform at this young age, and when he is obviously carrying an injury. I am thinking long term here, ofcourse I want him to play as much as possible, but it has to be sustainable, and managed. Carrying an injury, or two in his current state makes him put more pressure on other parts of his body. If a premiership team has to put so much expectation and pressure on an 18 year old halfback something is very wrong. the kid has plenty of guts, maybe too much for his own long term good.

He needs to learn to play with niggles. I think most players play with some form of pain or injury. But of course if it's that bad he'll be stood down.

With all due respect and I appreciate you're coming at it with good intentions, no one on here would be privileged enough to know whether he should be rested or not. The knowledge around his physical and mental health required to make that kind of decision would be limited to very few within the club let alone anyone outside of the club.

Robinson wasn't afraid to drop Joey Manu and Latrell Mitchell when he needed to give them a reset and I've got no doubt he's not afraid to make the same call with Walker should he deem it necessary.

I agree I do not have any real knowledge of the seriousness of any issues Sam has at the moment. I am only suggesting he be managed carefully going on what I regard as common sense. If he manages to play on then it's all good, but I think it could easily end in tears for both Sam, and the club.

They will manage him through it - if it is really affecting his form and contribution then they will review it then i suggest

Yep agreed. Professional sport is like that. I think we're one of the better clubs in relation to player welfare but even so, all players have their niggles that they're working through.

We saw this in the NRL Rookie. Medical advice aside, the hosts were like 'mate I'll be honest, 90% of NRL players have that injury... it's painful but you've gotta learn to manage it if you wanna make it in the NRL'. IMO most clubs basically only give you time off for:
                    - ACL/MCL tear (although GI played with a torn MCL)
                    - Head injury
                    - Syndesmosis
                    - Broken ams/legs/shoulders

Just about anything else 'can be managed' and players will be expected to work around it.

It seems everytime we rest someone, injuries have just compounded for one reason or another. I think back to Keary's concussions with Cronk rested. I say play him on unless he's genuinely not fit.

after the game robbo talked about resting sam at some stage - it's an option.
