Who cares which player is the 'best'?

Pap, Trbo, Ponga, RTS, Latrell...etc are all quality players. Teddy's of that calibre and has won 2 comps with us. It's not as if he's under-performing, wasting salary cap space, wanting to leave or unwanted.

      I'd take Turbo in heartbeat.
He can replace Jmoz next year.

Regardless of who is 'The Best' in any position, it is a team game and we definitely have one of the best teams.

I remember as kid being told by a footy coach that he would rather have a Champion Team than a Team of Champions.

          Wrong fullback, Skeez.

Call us when Harold Abrahams does it to a full strength Melbourne.

Tommy Turbo is a freak talent but I wouldn't swap Teddy for anyone. He is more consistant, and has been playing a lot of 5/8 style play for us since we lost Keary. they are different styles, both great, but not direstly comparable. Turbo is far better than Mitchell who is the most similar style fullback to him. There are so many great fullbacks right now. Ponga, Pappenhuzen, Brimson, Gutherson, Turbo, Mitchell all good in patches and with a variety of skills, but Teddy is the king, and he is a Rooster.

                    Andrew Johns
Tom Trbojevic is the most valuable player in the competition. The happiness of the entire northern beaches — and Manly coach Des Hasler for that matter — is directly determined by whether Turbo’s hamstring is working or not.

Last week’s effort, against the Warriors, was the best I’ve seen from an individual player in a long time. Since his return from injury, Manly have won four from five. He’s scored five tries and had eight try assists.

He helps everyone around him, particularly the halves. He takes all the defensive eyes off Kieran Foran and Daly Cherry-Evans and lets them do their thing.

If I was coaching the NSW side, I’d be very tempted to play Turbo at five-eighth.

Fullback and five-eighth in the modern game are very similar in attack; it’s only in defence that they are totally different. But they work in tandem so much.

Imagine the marriage of Turbo and Tedesco together. Forget “Bennifer” —Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.
NSW Blues teammates James Tedesco and Tom Trbojevic

The match made in heaven, for the Blues at least, is “Tedbo” — Teddy and Turbo.
Andrew Johns says Manly’s Tom Trbojevic needs to play five-eighth for NSW so he can combine with fullback James Tedesco. Trbojevic will spearhead his side against the Broncos in Friday Night Football.

I agree that Tommy best player in the game today. Although he has only played a handful of games under the new rules. Let's wait and see how teams adapt to him.

Great. Put him in State of Origin and leave Teddy for us then, if you can.

Andrew Johns was an exceptionally talented player on the field.

But .. he has never been an einstein as a strategist or a coach.

90% of what he says in the paper is to stoke rivalries or promote hypotheticals.

Teddy is a better and more complete player than Turbo, as good as the latter is. I would much rather have the former in our ranks.
                              MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

LOL....Johns was an instinctive player, a great one I admit, with many abilities such as hand eye coordination, balance, strength and sharp reflexes, but his brain is the size of a pea. Since hanging up the boots, his comments have been laughable in the extreme.
