Thanks for ruining Magic Round refs and V'landys! The only thing that can make it better is a Roosters victory!

      The bunkers a joke.
All of a sudden they love going back multiple plays to put someone on report for nothing.
Stay out of the game you dopes

The following is a post from the facebook group FIGs Former international greats. The person is Phil Franks. What is your take on his comment.

While we have short arse ego driven cheats like Sutton who has continued to direct the outcomes of games for many years, then there is going be a continuous increase in bewilderment.
I thought they had demoted him after they shifted his equally inept brother last year.
V’Landy’s will soon see the writing on the wall as the game continues to nose dive in popularity as it persists to be controlled by over educated buffoons and Women who have NO Idea.
Also the judge and jury critics that sit on those totally idiotic media shows such as 360 and that other one led by the town drunk “Rothfield” are definitely NOT doing the game much good.
We are imploding folks and I don’t think we have the people power to stop it.
The fact is that Super League who highjacked the game 25 years ago, masked by the media (News LTD) is still here, they have just changed their point of control from the paper media to the broadcasters.
        RIP

Yesterday's game, they went back 5 tackles and 80 metres

Just get up rubbing the back of your neck, you'll get a penalty ...even 3 or 4 tackles later !

Of course Souths are the benefit of these ridiculous new rules. And when they scored the try from this how was he not held?

                I know. I couldn’t believe that one.
It’s happened again and again this round.
Even for the Su’a sin bin which was a joke

I seriously think the NRL must be taking the piss with this crackdown. Surely they are? Everyone blowing up about the two parra incidents all week, it’s like Vlandys thought ‘ok let’s show em’! Either that or they seriously have no idea with their knee jerk reactionary rule changes.

Let me put it this way MR. You and your team have been doing your job haphazardly and getting away with it and most of your customers aren’t being affected but a few customers have been affected by the sloppy work and have made a complaint. So now your manager comes down and tells you that if you don’t lift your game and work to the standard expected, then it’s YOUR JOB! So now you’re all pissed off because your team have been berated by the big boss, even though you’ve all been sloppy and have caused this problem... So instead of taking the criticism and directions from the big boss in a constructive manner, you’ve have all got your nose out of joint and have vowed to take the directions from the big boss to the letter! This is what the big boss wants? we’ll give it to him.

So replace You and Your with the referees... and that’s what I think is happening. Abdo have told them what they should have done last week and to start sending players to the bin or off for FOUL PLAY, and the refs have made everything remotely foul a sin bin or send off... It happens often when unions instruct their workers to work to rule just to give it to the bosses and so the customers complaint... we are all complaining now. I blame the refs for being pedantic. Cheers MightyRooster!

Yes collisions will happen but head high tackles/ defenders hitting ball carriers in the head with their arm/shoulder are illegal tackles and have been since day dot.

The issue is that the NRL were lazy in doing something about it until the outcry from the Chooks vs Parra game - NRL have in way referred the dealing with these incidents to the MRC/Judiciary instead of these incidents being dealt with on the field by the match officials as they should be and now will be as the option of the sin bin and send off has always been available to use by the match officials.

Players have to learn that such tackles wont be tolerated anymore and to change their tackling techniques - coaches have to enforce this as well as improving player discipline in reducing penalties, set restarts and professional fouls as these too are subject to the sin bin - the sin binning of a player or players can change the momentum and result of the game.

Sitili had the time to make a legal tackle and not the high tackle he made - it will cost him 2 or 3 games on the sideline which is costly for an already stretched Chooks roster.

Spot on. The game doesn't need to change, it just needs to be played the way it was originally meant to be played, HARD, and FAIR. Fair for talented smaller players to be able to play the game withont the threat of continual brutal illegal hits to the head or when they don;t have the ball.

Yes, you WILL, but only if you start to penalise them where it cost their team a game. then the guys who have been running the game..... THE COACHES..... will wake up. No they won't destroy the game, they will improve the game, and ensure it has a future.
