My uncle gave a funny eulogy about Mum when she passed about how she would go for the Roosters for me, Parra & Souths for my two brothers in law, the Storm for my nephew but NEVER the Broncos for my sister even though she lived in Qld from 1948 until she passed in 2006. She'll be happy we now have the wood on them these days as we spent many a Good Friday staying up watching us get smashed by them, stress eating all the Easter eggs and then going out to buy more on Easter Saturday having to put up with Broncos loving neighbours in our country town.
Btw what is your family background? European? Middle Eastern? You talk a lot about family in m your posts, if you don’t mind me asking?

Not these new rules. I fell in love with league since it was a rough game which was fun to watch. This isn’t the same game at the moment.

Can't remember. But Mr Rugbaa Leag made me fall out of love with it.

Jack Gibson the way he coached was awesome.

Sorry Teddy for the late reply. I don't mind you asking and Dad moved to Queensland from Lebanon when he was 9. Mum was born here. Hope all is well with everyone this week. I put my tips in with my young work mates via our own chat group - tip for the week - Go watch another sport! They both gave me thumbs up emojis. My Raiders mate doesn't want to watch anymore either and neither does my Dragons mate..they are far too young to be this cynical. The 70's & 80's for music and league were the best. I probably won't be around on here much anymore so I hope everyone stays safe and well. Hopefully the season will improve sooner rather than later.

Yeah I agree with you, for the first time in a very long time I’m not looking forward to watching Oztag/touch football variant of what was supposed to be the greatest spectacle, I bring myself to the chookpen because everyone else here feels much the same way as I do.
Well hopefully you stick around if not stay safe and continue to support this wonderful club that has given us so much joy in recent seasons GO EASTS!

We won 19 - 13, Schuey ran the length and was ankle tapped late by Neville Glover but got there. I remember Graeme Murray scoring for Parra too and someone in the crowd said something to him as the conversion was lined up and he responded with something clever, quick as a flash and the crowd there had a good laugh.
Schubert lost his boot and ran about 60 metres with only one boot on for that try, i remember one of the papers the next day saying "one shoe Schubert socks it to them"
It was a great game to be at, i remember with Easts trailing 12-13 with probably only about 5 minutes to go Bob Fulton slotted a very angled penalty goal to give Easts a 14-13 lead, Easts then scored after that to win 19-13, think it was Hastings that scored. One of the Parramatta front rowers was sent off during the game also and i remember also in the first half when Kevin Stevens had a shot at goal one of the touch judges put his flag up and the other waved it away so the ref said no goal, i was sitting behind the in goal at the time and swear it was a goal but i might have been being a bit one eyed also.

It doesn't help that Carlton have been shit for 26 years. Big club when they are up and about.

Fell in love with RL as a kid introduced by my family.

The ‘poetry in motion’ that the great Jack Gibson produced after we had lost every game in 1966. We still have it under Trent.
