Sometimes teams have these nights, everything goes against you on refs calls and the opposition get all the luck, and ref decisions.
It was one that we were destined to lose.
Controversial forward pass calls against us (and missed forward passes when Broncs scored)
All the decisions in general play going to the Broncs.
Plenty of pissed off Roosters supporters at the game, going off at the ref.
    Rads off for 20 minutes.
When he's there , he doesn't cool down - instead he gets emotional and revved up.
Then he gets penalised for tackling Coates "too hard"in a perfectly legitimate tackle.
I thought his shot on Tevita Pangai earlier was legitimate as well.
He will probably end up with some stupid grade one charge - let's just wait and see.
Broncos were offside all night but ref did nothing about it.
On the positive side , Sitili and Angus were beasts when running the ball.
I thought Suaalii looked good too when he got the ball - remember he's only 17.
At 14-10 , we had control of this game, but we f*#Ked it up.
Just one game that we need to forget , and move on.
i was at the game too, and the most disappointing thing was all the fans leaving with 5 min to go, and not hanging around for Jake’s fairwell, also barely 13,000 turning up to the game was a pretty awful crowd.

Robbo was very true with the players being very emotional throughout and couldn't unfortunately get it together but im sure the boys will win even with the curse of the Central Coast.
Even Robbo is making the excuse it was too emotional for them - I mean they play on Anzac day - wouldn't that be an emotional game as well - They played poorly - poor set completions/errors/ poor discipline and took the game too lightly - i wish he actual said such things instead

Saturday 5:30 pm is not a great time for people to attend when they have kids sport on etc - be a few more attending if 7:30pm i would suggest

No excuses today, weather was perfect, nobody gets home late, a legend retiring, a potential superstar makes his first grade debut.

Lucky to get 13,000 on a cold pandemic Saturday night.

            • I can't see, why Trent can't see, what other coaches can see...that Walker is a liability in defence standing where he does.

You can't judge people for leaving, the game was gone and it's a nightmare to get out of there if you have driven. I drive to every home game from the Blue Mountains and I always leave with a few minutes to go of the game is dead one way or another. I certainly don't think its disrespectful leaving early, especialy those with kids

no problem leaving early, but because such a fuss was made about it being Jake’s farewell, to see hoards of people leaving early because the team itself put in a pea heart performance, seemed like it was more about the loss that they were leaving than to congratulate Jake.

Best these things are left to the end of the year anyway, the team and Robbo obviously didn’t know how to cope with the emotion and focus.

Rugby league is a winter sport, and yesterday was a perfect day, but rugby league is a TV sport, and only teams like parra can consistently draw good crowds in Sydney.

We didn't play in the day, we played in the dark.
                      Saturday night.
Many people are still avoiding crowds...Covid.
Also, many fans hate the SCG.
"Cant see" ... "too far away" they say.

Now they are going well Penrith Park sells out every week.
I think once we are away from the tip that is the SCG our crowds will improve enormously.
Anyone who hasn't been to bankwest needs to get out there and watch a game, it is sensational viewing.

Lol. You’re a funny fukka bb.
Where should he stand in defence?
                          ..it’ll be interesting to see

Correct, I wouldn't pay money to watch a club game at the SCG.

                              • Personally, upon reflection I believe that there was a few factors that added to last night's performances.

                                1. The day itself - Celebrating a club legend and dedicating a day to a club legend will bulid up alot of emotion. I've said my piece on this and personally I think the boys tried to go out there and play a game that was of Jakes quality.

                                2. Mind Games - As much as a grub Pangai is, he adopted the one thing that Jai Arrow used against us and using mind games to rile up Rads and JWH, clearly on show when Jarred gave that reckless penalty on 5th leading to Rads first sin bin. Clearly, Brisbane studied up on how to beat us which is to let us beat ourselves.

                                3. Sam Walker - Now he is 18 and I'm not blaming his performance on why we lost but clearly Brisbane did everything that everyone thought would turn out once he got his chance, in both attack and defense he was met with big bodies which really disrupted his flow and him throwing that intercept you could tell it got to him. He tried to be fearless and tried to create something outta nothing but he was under too much pressure to create which eliminated one of our key attacking weapons. At least now the media won't be putting on too much pressure on the kid and he will have his break soon with the bye.

                                4. Refs (Regrettably) - Now I'm someone who never wants to use the ref as an excuse for losing cause to me that's a cop out and just a way to blame a poor performance on. To me a mark of a great team is their resilience in times of setbacks which this team has clearly shown this season, however the refs truly got away with a few calls disrupting any momentum we couldve produced. The forward passes calls really killed us and obivously made a mark on the score board.

Overall, this team played down to inferior competition which is something you simply shouldn't do and clearly Brisbane had a game plan of rattling our key forwards up on an emotional occasion leading to our eventual capitulation. I believe that the team can absolutely bounce back but to me its hard to predict how this team will be come finals considering the injury toll and our team's discipline really killing us in key situations. I will stand by this team no matter what but last night proved that if you get our forwards riled up, we will be out of our groove. Onwards and upwards and hoping for all the best for the rest of the season and I strongly believe that 2022 will be a season to relish.
