We all know guys like Morley and Jarred and Rads are tough, but the real tough guys are the ones who are physically small but choose to take on these tough guys. These are the really tough ones.

Jake Friend has served our club with great dignity since 2008. He has grown from a boy into a man and into a leader. It's easy to see how much love and respect all involved with Jake have for him.

Tonight let's take a minute to appreciate this fantastic Roosters player and honour him for what he has done for our great club.

Jake Friend our three time premiership player, we thank you.

Tonight we have no excuse not to put on a cricket score against the new basket case of the NRL. Let's do it in Jake's honour.

I was driving past the mural on the house on Birrell st Waverley yesterday and lived the addition of Jake onto it next to Boyd. I’m so very proud of him and the roosters.

Wouldn't we just love to see a classic Walker long ball to put Sualli into space and he runs 70 metres to score while fending off 3 guys in the process. It would be a glimpse into the future.

Should be a great game if the ref and the bunker don’t take it from us. Great to celebrate our little warrior Jake. He’s come a long way in the last 12 years. Don’t expect too much from Sualli today. All the hype around him must be like having an elephant on his shoulders. Just so long as he makes his tackles, takes a few of the tough carries out of the back field and plays his natural game he will go ok. Don’t expect the miracle plays today. Let’s just give him time to find his feet. Anything more would be great but the kid will be very nervous and no matter what he says it will be tough for him with all the hype.

I'll remember Jake as the best pound for pound defender in the NRL era. So much commitment and effort in defense that it ended up cutting short his career. If anyone in the current crop of players derserved to join Ricko, The Count and Maubs in the 300 club it was Jake.
