It was a really poor night and I feel sorry for Jake Friend. I thought
    1. we played poorly and our forwards got spanked
    2. we didn’t get much from the officials. When the game was live we got 8 less penalties, 2 more sin bins and about 4 to 5 less restarts. Not to mention a few forward passes. Was it really that big a difference between he two teams for the first 60 mins. We where bad but that didn’t help.
    3. We lost the crackdown lottery this week. I hate changing rules mid season. It really fu$k in bothers me and the NRL are masters at it. It is because they are both arrogant and amateur at the same time. But the fact is the rules have changed, they will ease off or be more consistent but they are Not going to go back.
    4. Victor was stiffed but he did lose his composure a bit.
    5. Sam Walker has been great but tonight he was not. He played behind a beaten pack and he is an 18 yo with 7 GAMES. He will continue to develop.
    6. Joseph Suaalii looked solid as a 17 YO debuting in a well beaten side.

with the injuries we had I thought I would enjoy the rest of the season watching young players develop with no expectations. I then got caught up in how well they continued to play despite all the setbacks and lost a bit of perspective as to where we are at. Tonight was probably coming for a while.
what I am most disappointed in is how the sin bin lottery now makes games a blow out or can take away the advantages of good sides or good preparation over poor ones.
my expectations are back in line but I actually didn’t like rugby league over the last fortnight, it’s become a lottery.

as I said most of all I feel sorry for Nug, a rooster legend.

The one thing I liked about Lam last week is he wasnt just the "5/8 on the left" he plays both sides of the ruck so I'm not going to write him off after a bad game today because I don't think the difference between him and Hitchinson is what you're making it out to be.
      he didn't show much tonight

Hutchison is as good a complement that Walker can get.
He plays the roving 1st receiver role, or 2nd receiver off Radley, to give Walker time and space on the outside to work his magic.
Lam just sticks on the left and when he does get the ball he never knows what to do and stifles the play.

The team was terrible - in the second half they completed 9 out of 17 sets - 53% to Broncos 22/23 - 96% plus the errors and very poor discipline - Radley when back from suspension - plays some reggies - being binned once is bad enough but twice and on report 3 or 4 times - totally lost it.

Robbo dumped DSF to reggies after the Vermin game for ill discipline so needs to be consistent. Names shouldn't come into it- His binning's were very costly in having to play with 12 players for 20 minutes - especially the one 3 minutes after half time.

It doesn't matter if people think otherwise about the enforcing of the rules - these are the rules and if players can't abide by them they will spend time out of the game and if they continue ignoring the rules and be suspended they will find themselves out of the game like several did when Jim Comans was head of the Judiciary.

Radley played dumb tonight ( ill discipline and penalties ) as Big Jack Gibson would say and Big Jack would have no hesitation in having Radley cool his heals in reggies when he came back from suspension.

Radley will be charged with 3 offences - either grade 1's or 2's - i suspect 1 grade 1's and 2 grade 2's- has loadings for similiar and non similiar offences plus carryovers as well - so he may have a fair stint on the sideline.

Under the NRL's system, similar offences within the past two years result in the past two years result in 50 per cent loading on the base demerit points handed down.

A 20 per cent loading is applied for each non-similar offence in that time, although grade-one incidents drop off after one year.

Each 100 demerit points equate to one game being missed, with five points dropping off each week for carryovers.

While Lam was getting all these backslaps for basically catch & pass last week, Lam made just 2 runs for 21 metres. DSF for his 3 minutes he had 2 runs 22. These were the 2 worst stats for the night. Tonight he made 4 runs for 10m. Only Ben M was worst with 9m. Is he a running 5/8, a creative 5/8 or is there another category that I don't know of, because I still don't know what he's role is?

I am looking forward to seeing Hutch return. I also want to see Keighran getting more game time. The goal kicking issue is becoming frustrating for mine.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

I agree about the kicking and I am not blaming Sam W because he's a young kid punching above his weight, as I said it a few days ago. How we go into this season without a good kicker baffles me considering that we have done this before and it proved costly, but I also get the shits when other teams have 2 or 3 kickers in their team...Grrrrrr!

I agree about Sammy doing his best, but he cannot be expected to do everything. He needs more help out there! Apart from a couple of brief exceptions, we generally have had an issue with our kicking since Jimmy Maloney left, and something needs to be done sooner or later.

You seem to be holding some animosity towards Lam, why?

Last week he had a promising game, he played both sides of the ruck and there was nice cohesion in our backline movements. You say it’s just a catch and pass but even surely you can appreciate that he got into the position and didn’t just lock himself onto the left edge like so many halves do these days. He worked to get over there and create the numerical advantage.

I don’t think Lam has really shown much yet but I also think you’re overplaying the difference in quality between he and Hutchinson and it’s confusing to me. Neither have really shown much from a running, creativity or organisational point of view.

This is the real question, unfortunately when it’s all over.

He is an invisible 5/8, probably the best at it in the NRL....

I dont but I have a few mates who he has also upset that think he is a little Ponce.

I'm not sure he has ever upset me, I have played him maybe only once bit of a tosser but that's ok if you are a young so called footy star. But my mates have played him a few times. Almost come to blows. Lachie didn't like old fellas schooling him. Some of these guys are currently in that legend Taren Point team winning every comp and repped etc so they aren't ho-bos at touch.

I think the incident occurred between my mate and him at the Queens Park comp. I dont play at Taren Point or Queens Park.

I thought he would be better at NRL now it's turning into touch...
