6pm: Victor Radley
7.30pm: Angus Crichton
9pm: Elliott Whitehead
Radley pleaded guilty to the tackle on Albert - 120 points
Challenging the grading of the Pengai jnr tackle - grade 2 - wont have the early plea discount of 330 points if unsuccessful
If successful with a down grade from a grade 2 (200 points) to a grade 1 (100 points) but he has 2 prior similar offences (50% loading) plus 1 non similar offence ( 20 % loading )-
Grade 1 - 100 x 100% ( 2 x 50% loadings) = 200 plus 100 x 20% loading = 20 = 220 less 25% early plea = 165 points
Successful with down grade
120 points from early play for the Albert tackle
165 points ( 220 less 25% early plea discount )
285 points
Will miss 2 games and have 85 carryover points
Unsuccessful with down grade - i thought that an early plea and challenge of the grading if unsuccessful = original point allocation with no early plea discount as per what's on the NRL site
His Grade 2 was 440 ( 200 points plus 2 50% loading's for similar offences and 1 20% loading for non similar offence)
Meaning 120 + 440 = 560
Which is 5 games and 60 carryovers
An article i read said if unsuccessful with the downgrade he will miss 4 weeks for both ?
NRL site says the following
Most players will plead GUILTY. They receive a 25% discount on the total number of points incurred from their charge(s).
Unsuccessful = Original points allocation with No discount.
Successful = Lower number of points + 25% discount.
This is the gamble with challenging the grading or the charge and appearing before the Judiciary Panel.Last edited by King Salvo; 05-25-2021, 12:31 AM.

NRL prosecutor Peter McGrath submits that Radley “launched himself” at Pangai jnr, aimed to make contact above the ball and imparted “moderate force” upon impact. With there being a small margin for error in that contact zone, McGrath says Radley had a higher duty of care in the tackle.
He claims there was “direct contact to the head” and that Pangai’s height didn’t change dramatically, arguing Radley could have easily aimed lower on his opponent’s body.

We might get off yet.
NRL prosecutor is using Campbell-Gillards grade 2 as a comparison where as Radley'a brief is using a grade 1 from last - all to do with steps and force - less steps means less force according to the NRL prosecutor- more force with more steps.
The judiciary panel consists of Tony Puletua, Michael Robertson and Bob Lindner, who is appearing via video link.Last edited by King Salvo; 05-25-2021, 07:40 PM.
