  • Manly show the way in how to farewell a club legend

I've always hated Manly, and Bozo after what he did to us in the early eighties. I have to say though, their performance today is exactly how you honour a club legend. It's gonna take me a while to get over the shit that was served up to Jake last night.

Manly played no different today than they have since Turbo came back. It is amazing how much one guy can change a team.
Parra have been pretenders for the last two years and only leg ups from refs have kept them in the top for in that time.
We played bad. We have that in us every year even the years we won the GFs. We copped some shocking calls for sin bins and forward passes (ours and theirs).
We had 7 guys out of our best 17 and a few guys in the team who have played a handful of NRL games.
To suggest that the guys didn't put in for Friendy is sheer stupidity.
The emotion of the day clearly got to some of the guys. Unfortunately it just wasn't our night.
I'm sure they all had a gatorade or two with Jake after the game.

Clearly this loss has made you clearly upset which is fair enough although you have to just move on from here, there's still plenty of games left in the season and this game will more than likely not be dwell upon in the coming years from both sides.

I think the effort was there , frustration and emotion got the better of them .

I don't get how one player has made so much difference for Manly either. Imagine how much the Manly fans are waiting for SOO?
But I also don't get the emotion of Jakes presentation. He's not dead. It's supposed to be a celebration of jakes career not a war. The attitude from the get go was crap. The Broncos were the ones that were supposed to to try and and bash us being that they are desperate, but no Jared starts it and Rads takes over and completely goes OTT, and this is where the captain comes in, but as much as we ALL love Teddy, he doesn't instil much authority there. A strong captain, say like Cam Smith, would have just looked at Jared or Rads and with one look he would have told them to pull their heads in. There aren't that many Cam Smiths going around but we cannot have players not being reigned in when their out of control.

And where was the coach not taking him off as well? Right or wrong with the calls but you are running a massive risk leaving a guy out who is either running amok and costing the side or getting canned by the officials unfairly.

Agree...We need someone like Nathan Brown as coach just so he can go on the field and slap some players around. hahaha...

I mentioned that before and if i was at the press conference i would have asked that question re:leaving him off after the second sin binning. End up like Les Boyd if he's not careful.

I would have Nat Butcher as one of the Captains.

Not sure if you're serious. Weak on the field and have you heard him talk, my 5 year old speaks with more authority than Nat does

We have more senior players in line for captaincy before Nate and a captain shouldn't start of the bench each week.
Hopefully Cordner will be captain for the rest of the year after this week.
I would have Crichton as his co when he is having a break.
Teddy seems too much of a nice guy to bring someone like JWH or Rads into line.
