if these nrl admin muppets really do care about the players why don't they reduce the 10 meters as players today are bigger faster and and impact at that distance is extremely high so reduce the distance so collisions arnt as bad, but no they add six again where fatigue is causing a lot of injuries hope him and his puppet abdo farrrk off soon

Yep, if its litigation the administrators are trying to protect themselves against, it may well be the exact thing that comes back to bite them as they are changing the game in more dangerous direction.

V'landys is a con artist.
He sits there with a straight face and says that he is worried the government will shut down rugby league citing that this has already happened around the world.
Give me 1 example of a major sporting code being shut down by the government or regulators.
Also, failed HIAs have increased since the 'crackdown'. V'landys hasn't got a clue

I have never met PVL. I had never even heard his name before he was in the job. No idea what kind of man he is. All I know is he started in the job strongly in terms of getting the game up and running in the face of Covid-19. However, his decisions that have directly impacted the way the game is being played have been a disaster. The six again bullshit is bad enough but now with all of these sin binnings and inconsistent refereeing it has become a real mess.

The guy used to tackle the orange boy at half time and now he thinks he can change rules mid-season in the last two years, is an expert at tackling techniques, knows more than coaches/players and wants to be the referees boss as well. He thinks Mums won't let their kids play. FFS Mum's have been around since Dally Messenger. We had our toughest period in the 70s/80s/90s and Mums allowed their kids to play. The game has peaked in popularity this century and Mums still allowed their kids to play.
He was brought in to administer the game. Well fkn administer it and then consult with experts about rule changes and when to make them. FM I miss Todd. At least he had a feel for the game.

I think he is a good leader overall. Would buy and sell our pollies. You need that sort of strength and conviction.
Having said that, he needs to take advice from the right people at the right time. Can be headstrong and dictatorial. What is happening now in the game is wrong, he has taken bad advice and reacted too impulsively.
He is still miles ahead of any other administrator we've had in the game since Quayle.#We Stand with ourJewish community#

He has looked after the big boys while the small/medium operators have suffered.
The Championships are targeted to the elite. Don't be fooled by all the glitz and glamour.
He completely screwed harness racing in the three years he was there and they have never recovered.
He is not the messiah many made him out to be but he sure believes the press.

Second year in a row V'lakas has made a mockery of the competition with dramatic mid-season rule changes and without following the normal consultation processes. The guy is a clueless dictator and needs to go.
All the useful idiots supporting him as though waiting a few more weeks and following the agreed consultation processes would have ruined the game two years in a row. fmd how gullible are these idiots.

Has very little feel for the game, knows no more than the average fan, so should hand decisions to do with the rules to someone more qualified.
I have been in the racing game for over 20 years. I talk to racing people every day. I have not heard anyone praise PVL. In fact I hear a lot of criticism regularly.
As I said the prize money increases has mainly been to the advantage of the big trainers and stud farms. Always great to see a rags to riches story though but very rare.
Anyway this is about rugby league and you can already tell in the 5 minutes he has been here he is fcuking up the game.
How many positive things have you heard about him in the last few weeks from commentators/supporters?

I can't see any player signing one which is why the League is doing this to avoid the NFL litigation scenerio - 1 billion dollar fund so far with more litigation to come from ex players.
Players have been well and truly put on notice so the Coaches have a lot a work to do with their players to change their tackling techniques or face the consequences of their players being suspended.
You may well find in the future if nothing was done that insurance companies would pull out of the sports insurance business especially the contact sport ones - that would be the end of the game for sure and certain if that ever occurred - Governments could stop such sports as well on medical advice.
I find it amazing that people are jumping up and down about this when after all they aren't the ones being hit in the head.
Maybe they think it's like Rome and they are seated in the Colosseum and the players are the Gladiators - thumbs up or down i wonder ?
the issue isn’t the sentiment behind the crack down, it’s multifaceted, at least from why I’m not for it;
- Firstly the timing. It feels like PVL had a light bulb moment in the shower one morning and decided to apply this largely reactive approach for fear of being sued. Rather than unpack the problem by asking why have concussions increased 700% when compared to previous years. Then apply a structured and considered plan over months, rather than place the spectacle of the game at risk and expect players to adapt on the fly.
- The rules are the equivalent of locking up people who speed, regardless of 1km over or 200km over. Intentional head highs should be condemned, but the incidental contact that can occur which would barely crease a piece of paper makes the game look like millennials have taken the helm. The Bronx game felt like penalty shoot outs in soccer, no earning the right to get to try lines just take players away and piggy back penalties to enable points.
- This year has one of the largest injury lists, granted our team is largely affected by the carnage but the fatigue that’s part of the game is producing more concussions and injuries- if we’re looking out for player welfare why aren’t we unpacking this issue? Instead of misdirecting to head highs which account 30% of concussions. Was the MRC not dealing with this in the usual way properly?
- the game has changed considerably over the past two years, now it feels we just continue to tinker with it without any proper consultation with players, coaches, or fans. It’s just forced upon the game.
That’s why I loathe this crackdown and will struggle to support the code of it continues in its current form. Will watch Roosters as it’s not their fault but Origin, and other games I’d rather water polo... bigger hits.
