Maybe a debut for Whyte if Angus is suspended.

I reckon this could be Ikuvalu's last chance particularly now that Suaalii has made his debut.
      Too many mistakes every week

Good to see Fletch Baker rewarded, was very strong for the Bears on Sunday. Mind you, big Tapuha wasn't far behind ...watch him. Fifita played less minutes and was ok, but like the other lads better from a future viewpoint.

What has Suaalii done that makes him a better propostion then Ika? Yeah long term more upside but Ika does his job each week and Robbo rates him so can't see it happening for a while

E Butcher must be close though - been waiting a while for the debut

As for this weekend’s bears line up after their win against Mounties - they take on the Raiders reserves at NSO

With Gus’ suspension either Whyte or E Butcher should be withdrawn from this squad to play 1st’s.

Suaalii returns to the centres. Silktail captain Tagituimua starts at 9. Flegg hooker Rugless (sounds dirty to write) gets his chance off the bench. Many number 9’s being tried in reserve grade from Hills Bulls, Kiviti Silktails, SG ball and Jersey Flegg throughout this season.

Abbey must be finding it hard to train and trial for an NRL fullback spot while he can’t hold one in reserves. Moala Graham-Taufa retains his wing spot after being promoted from jersey flegg.

Moretti gets another chance at this grade after being replaced late last week. Volkman also remains in the halves in place of Ralph.

                    1 Bergamin
                    2 M Graham-Taufa
                    3 Abbey
                    4 Suaalii
                    5 Hopoate
                    6 J Marschke
                    7 Volkman
                    8 Hau Tapuhua
                    9 Tagituimua
                    10 Bailey
                    11 E Butcher*
                    12 Whyte*
                    13 Key

                    14 Rugless
                    15 Moretti
                    16 Fenn
                    17 B Thomas

A crazy amount of changes week to week for the bears - their ideal line up at the start of the season would have looked a lot different if everyone was fit in both top grades.

Bergamin has been strong at the back and pushed Abbey to centres. The little Silktails hooker went well in his stint too and interested to see him get some more game time.

Yeah the changes must be tricky to train and Coach, but the boys still seem to be pretty tight.

Ikuvalu has a deficiency against the high ball and opposition teams have taken note and are exploiting it, I find the rest of his game quite solid and a good finisher but you can't have a weakness at the top level without getting found out. Suaallii with his height negates that issue and now we've given him a taste of first grade what's the point in putting him back to the reserves.

I have noticed Iku and the highball - whilst he can take them well - at times he seems to get the timing of the jump a bit wrong and they bounce off his chest. It is the weakest part of his game granted.

I dont know why he does it as the ball is coming down he turns his body sideways at the last second,,this is his problem.
