Thanks very much ism. She's back in lockdown in Melbourne (for something completely different ) and is lucky it's a very very small tumour, not like the full blown breast cancer our other sister had back in 2018 but still not a nice diagnosis. She watches the Swans more than NRL these days as seems to be the current fashion.

On a lighter note, my young Raiders workmate said "I"m not watching on Saturday night. I'm scared of the Roosters". Me "I'm not watching on Saturday night. I'm scared of the Raiders!" I'll keep an eye on the score and watch it tomorrow if we win. Everyone going to CC tonight, stay safe and warm for goodness sake.

Let's not kid ourselves. We are playing a club who have become the biggest basket case of the NRL. But against us they will compete, they will complete and they will play good footy.

We make no excuses. We have great forwards and great backs plus the best player in the game.

A big adjustment in our attitude should have us winning the 2 points tonight. It’s time to get back on track.

      GO ROOSTERS!

(If anyone needs tickets let me know, free of course to my Chookpen friends)
      Last game, we were persecuted.
But, we still started the game with our usual mistakes, usual dumb passes. poor tackling, mix ups, unwise kicks, and Walker getting run over by big players for tries.
And, Teddy should be behind the defensive line and coming forward to field grubber kicks, not trying to turn and chase them.

Oh to get all the set restarts and seemingly-favoured reffing the Panthers get.
Little lady who sits in the recliner was just complaining about it...while she was watching today's riff game.
I don't watch NRL games on tv anymore, except ours.

But, I might watch the start of the vermin game today, hoping to see them lose.

With rumours of no Walker I wonder if we can make a 13 out of the players not playing tonight.

          1.
          2. Brett Morris
          3. Drew Hutchison
          4. Angus Crichton
          5. Billy Smith
          6. Luke Keary
          7. Sam Walker
          8. Lindsay Collins
          9. Sam Verrills
          10.
          11. Boyd Cordner
          12. Victor Radley
          13. Jake Friend

Not confident tonight with all the injuries and suspensions starting to take a toll, we will have to watch our discipline and put in a more committed performance.
Big ups to you hardy supporters braving the elements to cheer the chooks home.
              Easts to win.

Probably a good thing. Last week we were over-confident and tried to overplay our hand while ~30m out with tackles up our skeeve (e.g. stoopid no-look passes/offloads to nobody rather than crunching through our tackles to build pressure).

I hope we learned from it. Don't take ANY team lightly!!!

Horrible to hear. My thoughts go with you and your sisters.

                  Go Easts!

I bloody love a bit of the Raff. Family folklore tells us that dad fitted Gerry for a suit in Glasgow back in the late 60’s. hahah.

If the wooden spooners can beat us so easily then my confidence is very low tonight especially considering suspensions and injuries. But whereas before, I excitedly looked forward to our game, I’m feeling Very inclined not to watch because of anxiety surrounding the new rules. How many roosters will be sin binned/ sent off and put on report? Even if the other team has sin bins that means an unfair advantage. I miss the good old days of Rugby League when it was 13 vs 13 and the best team won. Let’s face it, our game is ruined.

Thanks SG. One is well and truly recovered and now the other one is going for treatment next week. I love Gerry Rafferty too by the way. Baker Street is a classic. I think he had a song called the Royal Mile too.
