What went wrong in your opinion? Does he think he is a boxer?

He told me he wanted to play NRL and box. Looks like he lost his commitment to both. I was so impressed by his attitude and work ethic. I was convinced he’d make it as an NRL player. I am guessing his outside influences corrupted him but I really don’t know what happened.

He hasn't turned his life around, he is a prick and most likely will always be one.
Besides that he is actually contracted to Glebe in the Rom Massey Cup and they haven't been asked to release him.

I remember 2 or 3 years ago he was playing for them (or the Concord - Burwood incarnation) and he punched a player in the head (I think who was lying on the ground) .
Spent a handy 24 weeks "turning his life around"

He not only mixed with the wrong crowd he became the wrong crowd. He derailed more careers than just his own. Its sad when someone who starts out with a great attitude sees the bright lights and easy money.

He signed a contract to play, did a week's pre-season then took off. Hasn't been sighted since. He's definitely not in their squad anymore.

Sounds like the Roosters dodged a bullet/made the right call regarding Willis. I hope for society's and Willis' sake, he can get his life in order.

There's some dirtbags out there. We signed a guy who played NRL to our club last year, gave him quite a hefty sign on fee, only for him to turn around and sign with another club 2 weeks later. Thankfully we got our money back. The second club wasn't so lucky as he fled interstate without playing a game

TBH I'm surprised there hasn't been a way forward for him. Not excusing his crime but he made a bad call, joined a gang and did some debt collection for them.

He didn't actually get a conviction either... 'he was not convicted after his robbery in company charge was thrown out'. Dunno why it was thrown out but I'd assume the guy he bashed was a drug dealer or something who had messed Willis' boys around + claimed he had no money, so they took his $$$ Rolex and bashed the cr@p outta him. Cops came and their 'victim' said 'go fark yourselves, this is between us... none of your business'.

Not encouraging gang crime or saying this theory would make him a nice guy. BUT... given that guys like Lodge can play, I'm not entirely opposed to an ex-teenaged w@nkster cleaning his act up.

If he isn't boxing or playing NRL then presumably he's into some pretty deep shyte and nobody wants to touch him? (Bit like that w@nker from Tumit who farked everybody over). IMO from a risk management perspective it must be pretty difficult for any employer to trust somebody who has had some pretty deep involvement with organised crime (as opposed to a d!ckhead with anger management issues... not that you really trust either of 'em).

Meh. Woulda... coulda been. Lotsa guys have it all and love p!ssing it away by being 'bad'. I never get kids' attraction to being 'bad'. Sometimes I wish that I was born with 1/2 the physical advantage that some of these guys had! As a largely un-co, skinny, white, wog... I feel like I fit one of two categories:
1. Tedesco... without the coordination, ball skills, awareness, leadership and fancy footwork.
2. Meehan... a clean version, but lacking the size.

Edit... I say that, but he's still fighting and had a fight this year (also looks to be fit). Apparently 2020 was a write-off due to COVID and he's actually been boxing. Coulda just made the call that he wanted to focus on boxing after being sacked?

To be fair Lodge shouldn't be playing imo so using him as a yardstick in that regard is pretty moot.

Plenty of decent young men out there who have enough respect to represent our National Competition.
