  • The blues’ blueprint

To beat the cheats in maroon, Freddy must instruct his middle forwards to run at Grant, then run at Grant and keep running at Grant until his can’t lift his arms any more.
The guy hasn’t played 80 continuous minutes of footy, and without Friend laying the foundation last year, he wouldn’t have stood out so much.

Grant will understand how to hide himself in defence when needed. Even when he's been bashed all game he is still capable of changing the momentum of the game. Obviously do agree on the Friend point absorbing all the early contact and allowing Grant to come on at a suitable time and shred up - really helped them last year. But I also reckon if he's fit he will be more than capable of lasting a full 80 minutes in origin.

The biggest issue the blues have to overcome is that the officials allow QLD to play like its the 80's. Pure origin with grub and niggle. Plays straight into players hands like munster. The blues need to bring some fire. The unfortunate part is the over scrutiny NSW is under (similar to the chooks) also the no punching and now the sinbin rubbish for the slightest thing.

Man, they can handicap teams so easily. Always keen for a blues series win but cant see it happening, hope im wrong.
