What an outstanding trio who only played 2 seasons ( and a bit ) with us yet feel like lifetime roosters, and have become entrenched in roosters folklore and history. Not surprising though is the fact they all came under Trent Robinson, which speaks volumes for the man’s ability and stature. He will, and should, become the best coach in league history once he calls it quits. He will overtake Bennett and Bellamy in good time, after all they’ve had quite few years head start on him.

And if Ricky lets him play on in 2003 like he wanted to we in that GF because there is no way he is doing a Skinny Byrne.

100% agree we would of won with him on the wing in 03

I was just thinking the other day how both Mullins and Morris followed similar career paths.
Famous fathers who played for the Roosters, both finished their career here while winning a premiership in their 1st year and both legends of their position

Mullins 1994 season was one of the best of all time however begs the question who was the better player Morris or Mullins.

          I can't split them.

                    Agree.

That 2003 team was the strongest in the 02-04 era imo. Definitely the one that got away.

And that overrated Sattler tackle gets replayed ad nauseam. Along with the flukey Gearin try from 80.

                    Sickening.

Who takes the wing spots? Mini, toops or bmoz? Teddy beats mini in the fullbacks position for mine, more complete.

Made worse every time I hear Sattler talk on radio or “that” tackle is mentioned or replayed. The hurt hasn’t stopped, nor has the 1980 GF , and the loss to Newtown in ‘81. I’m scarred for life.

we should have got a better return from 3 gfs in 3 years but we're 3 from 3 in our last gf appearances and that has fixed up my scars up

Sattler has made a career for himself thanks to Byrne.
