Curse of the captaincy. Three retirements = three captains.

100% the right call by Boyd.

This has been an emotionally gruelling year for us roosters

Sad. But at the end of the day someone’s health is so important. Sad we won’t see Boydo run on again or get to shout out “ good run Boydo” as made huge metres down the left hand side of the field. Just remember those premierships.

ahh **** me what a horrible way to end the weekend.

thats incredibly guttering, ive loved watching him play for years and now this.

two of the games greatest leaders forced to retire because they were too tough for their own good.

i hope the club offers him as much support needed for the rest of his life, this would be extremely hard for him.

The hardest thing with the Cordner, Friend, and Morris retirements is how 3 legends of the game were robbed of proper send offs

Will miss him. Have to pay him the highest accolade I can, “He is a Rooster”.

Good luck Boydo and hope the Chooks keep him on in some capacity.

Not Roosters related but one hopes for his own health that Wade Graham will strongly considering retirement as well - 4 concussions this season alone.

A wonderful player and person. He gave us his all. Should be given lifetime membership and put in a hall of fame. Irreplaceable no matter how much $$ we have. He was a true gentleman and sportsman rare things nowadays.

3 Legends gone in one season... what a harsh game this season has played. Like Friend, a true leader and club legend, worked his tail off every game and was a living embodiment of the Rooster Way. Very sad to see Boyd and Friend going from Co-captaining their way to 2 premierships to retiring couple years later. But to add light onto a sad situation, a new era of the Roosters are beginning to dawn, Walker, Baker, Suualli, Collins, Verills, Radley are going to be the core that will be built for years to come like Mini, Cords, Friendy, JWH and Aubo was for the 2010s era.

Well said , very sad not to see Boyd lead the team but he’s leaving a great legacy just like Friend and Morris. The future is looking good though.
                              Go Roosters

                                Nice one.

You could also add Manu, Crichton, Tuiponua, Butcher boys, Lam, Smith to that list. All under 25 I think. Who says we're an old team? Hutch is 26.

Would have been great to have Cordner lead them.

Guess it'll be Teddy, Morris, JWH, Liu and SST who'll form the leadership team now.
