Just watched the full press conference.

Damn. Cords, Friend and B-Moz all in one season. Sometimes it's deeper than just winning and losing ay! Be cool if we could get a chance to farewell them all during our last home game. I'd love to go along, smash a few beers and see them for one last time.

It's round 24 versus the bunnies too... don't want the pressure of the Brissy game, but a heart filled effort for them in front of a full SCG against the Bunnies would be awesome.

What an emotional press conference Boyd just gave. Well worth watching, anyone with a dry eye when he was talking about his love for the club, coach, Nick, players and staff is kidding them selves.
He wanted To play on with all his heart but always at the back of his mind was what if I take one more hit. Really tuff to listen to but he spoke so well. It’s on the Roosters app so take some time to watch it, well worth the time.

I reckon that presser was harder than any game Boyd has played. He did super.

There is some irony Titans trying to injure Walker by driving him into the ground with maximum force and going unpunished. A day before Cordner forced into retirement from similar driving tackles from the Storm which concussed him twice and also going unpunished.

That tackle where the defenders pin the ball carriers arms and drive them into the ground is one that should be monitored as the ball carrier has no way of bracing themselves for the collision with the ground - Walker's shoulder hit the ground that time what if it was his head though? - I have seen a few of these where the ball carriers head did hit the turf and the player having to go off for a HIA.

I see such a tackle as being the same as a head slam or back slam tackle - all should be banned.

Good on Cords for saying that I say. Yes his tackling technique was an issue the same as Wade Grahams who I noticed attended the press conference along with Todd Carney.

Wade Graham should also think of doing the same as Cords as he has a very similar history of head knocks and concussions including 4 this year with the 4th one last game vs Penrith.

No use playing on though if your going to be hesitant in playing and thinking about the next head knock or for short or long term health reasons so he definitely made the right decision

I am sure he will have some role at the Chooks going forward when he is ready to take on a role.

he was signed for another couple of years so you'd figure he'll be paid out so that'll give him a good start for the rest of his life

If the medical advice is to retire, then retire he should.
Age 28...has another 50-60 years to live....best he is able to live that life to the full, not with brain damage.

Firstly, disappointed for Cordners end to his playing career. That presser was hard to watch. I am not going to say he did the right thing because it's his life. I will say that I hope his decision makes him happy to enjoy his life and as aRoosters fan, very grateful to have such a great man in our club.

Secondly as a fan of the club, now much have we have to deal due to injuries? It all started with a double ACL with Radley and Verrills in 2020 and it hasn't stopped. 3 Champions retire and one a season ending injury for another champ.
