    Maubs can be captain

Morts wouldnt be threatened against a green half & a green hooker or a Sutton ,

I reckon he might show flair

Inglis or not, Braith or not

we will win this thing because Burgess & Taylor will get nailed....

Honestly the way they try those chip kicks and grubbers and the way they run the ball and take the line on.. They always look dangerous. Especially Kheirallah in the Dogs trial game as halfback. I think I remember him chipping at about half way then regathering then chipping and regathering again and then being tackled about 2 metres out from their try line. Epic stuff.
      Unbelievable.

Our only good organiser and Origin halfback is now on the same level as a bit-part, back-up reserve grader who did OK in the trials.

PWN, I think you are winning.

A lot of us belong to the "Anyone But Braith" camp.

I nominate Simon Crean to be our next 5/8th. Julia kan die haker - ten minste volgens Craig Emerson se vrou....

        Ooh, scuttlebutt.

Btw Blindman, you're about to hit the 1000 club. It's an honor, don't besmirch it.

I've done it 5 times on here. In differing guises.

I understand that this won't happen but if Anasta is out I would prefer to see Kheirallah play at 6. His kicking game and organising is superior to Mortimers and I'm sure whoever saw both trials would agree that he was the second best half that played. He got us more repeat sets than any other half in those games (something people on here have been pleading for) and his attacking kicks and runs actually led directly to tries. I think he deserves more credit. Sure Mortimer has been solid and better than expected in the trials but when playing at 6 did he create any tries? He scored off a Nuuausala offload from fullback but that's as much as he produced that led directly to tries. I think a lot of people are overstating his form. He is not a better option than Anasta at 6 overall. Maybe in 1 or 2 aspects but to say he is ahead of him is absurd imo.

Kheirallah is a gifted footballer, but needs to start in the reggies. I still think he is physically one year away.

I didn't see the trials but I know you did & I think what you have said is on the mark.

Wow..well that does put a new complexion on things doesn't it. Morts to 5/8 and Mitchell to say on the bench. Now we know why he didn;t play in those trials.

I can understand where you are coming from Mike cos he is very small, but a lot of that is height i think. Maybe another 2 or 3 kgs could be put on but anything more than that and i think you'd start to see him lose pace because likelihood is they're going to want to build upper body mass to improve his fend and wrestling in the tackle. He's probably added around 3 kgs since last season and already lost a yard of pace. I think he would have burnt Tedesco dont the sideline late last year. Are you worried about his size in defence or how its affecting his ability to break the line?

I just think we would get more creativity and pointscoring out of him that Mortimer. His kicking game would complement Pearce's very well imo.

I knew there was a reason Morts was training at 5/8th mainly.

                          Too much golf?

As much as I don't rate him he is still a better player than Mortimer.

Exactly. It's not a good way to start the season minus our captain and along with Mini our most experienced player.
