Living out west I don't get to see too many games live but I did take my 9yo son to the 2002 GF and it was a great night in so many ways. The victory after 27 years of pain and suffering, my son turning to me with 5 mins to go and saying 'thanks dad, this has been the best day of my life!', walking from the ground with him cheering Roosters, Roosters, catching the train back to our accommodation then stopping it an the bottlo to grab a couple of cans of JD and coke for me and coke for him as we sat up for half an hour or so, still far too hyped to go to bed

Wondering what favourites others might have, whether that be club games, Origins, Tests, Grand Finals, etc?Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

I still remember the 1974 and 1975 Grand finals fondly as i did go to them as a youngster and still deem this as Roosters footy - plenty of offloads/ players in motion and support play - but still great defence
Anyway a game at Lidcombe in 1980 when the Chooks beat Wests ( i think the first time Wests lost at Lidcombe in over 2 years ) - Fairfax had a blinder at FB - Scored one of those classic tries - chipped over the top of the defence regathered and as he came to the Fullback put up a high kick chased it through leaped up and caught it and scored a try.
A 1982 game when the Chooks flogged Manly 40-2 - played hot potato footy in that game - i think one of tries they scored most if not all the players handled the ball in the movement which led to the try.
1996 - Monday Night game - Chooks vs Brisbane - still remember the try - Junee Junee Junee and Peter Jorgensen try was a good one too and winning it when the Bronc's player Andrew Gee didn't know the rules after Andrew Walker missed the Field goal - 20 metre tap - tapped it on his foot instead putting the ball on the ground and tapping it with his foot and picking it up - Ivan Cleary kicked the penalty goal for a 12-10 win- 30 thousand plus crowd
Many more clubs games too-ditto for period below

The last game vs Souffs Vermin the ground announcer gave the Chooks fans false hopes in saying a Knights player had been sent off in their game vs Raiders.
The Chooks needed the Raiders to win (points for an against would come into it -not sure if they still had play offs for finals spots then?) - the Chooks crowd cheered as there was hope only for it to be dashed when the Ground announcer corrected it that it was a Raiders player that was sent off instead - The Chooks crowd then booed.
The Knights ended up winning
If the Raiders had won the Chooks and Knights would have been on the same comp points in equal 5thLast edited by King Salvo; 06-17-2021, 11:52 AM.

I will also mention the 1980 final when we played champagne footy to destroy the magpies to get into the grand final, one of those rare days when everything we touched turned to gold it was just a shame we didn't save it for a week later against the dogs.

Can't pick just one:
1975 - Grand Final v Saints.
2018 - Grand Final v Storm (though that intercept still annoys)
2000 - Prelim Final v Knights. Freddy at his best. What a comeback after enduring the early hysteria from Knights supporters!
1982 - Easts 40, Manly 2. Syd Sports Ground. Awesome tries from the huge underdogs in that match...and they were only worth 3 points, I think!
2010 - Semi against Tigers.....we were the best team in that comp and no-one can ever tell me we didn't get totally ripped off in the Grand Final.Last edited by ccfc bondi; 06-18-2021, 01:50 PM.

$5 dollar GF I recall - mmm that's what i paid
Posters are critical of refs now they have nothing on Hartley.
1981 Major Semi vs Parramatta - 2 scrum penalties in extra time - I still believe that Giteau's kick to convert Rocky Laurie's try which would have won the game (8 all at that stage late in the game) was a goal as his kicks went way above the uprights and the touch judges always had trouble ruling on these
The Prelim Final vs Newtown in 1981 I remember Gould Scoring a try for Newtown and the carry on - Chooks were done with heads down - poor second half- best team all year and didn't make it to the GF at least.
