The thought of Penrith celebrating tries like it’s the grand final and forgetting that they are playing against a a much weakened side will make me want to vomit.

      To me this is important.

I always want us to win and would be lying if I said otherwise. However, I reckon it's a massive piece of commitment to get out there and SUPPORT the team. People like you and Wayne L are awesome... no matter what happens, I hope it's a good game to watch.

Wish I could go (almost could from Canberra in terms of distance as it's the Riff) but it's my night to put my little one down (at ~7:30) so I might not even get to watch it at home. Also, he's got Vietnamese school first thing on Saturday morning.

Massive test though ay! I feel like Penrith are the benchmark this season so our attitude and composure will be the most important take-away. Obviously we know where the punters sit on this one and I get it. However, I don't bet on sports for a reason. Let's see how it goes...

Just on the Roosters boncos match (which I haven’t watched/read about), given what the vermin did to the boncos last night (and what other teams have done), all while appreciating that the Roosters are depleted, why did the Roosters lose that game? Was it because of Radley’s loss of control? Just curious.

As for tonight, good luck to the players who I hope do the jersey proud. Go Easts!

          c) a referee who doesn't shaft us so bad that he becomes the 4th sacking in 6 wks for doing so
Are we thinking that Manu will start at 6 to allow suaalii to play?

I don't think we showed up.

Doesn't matter who we're playing. If we don't show up, they're gonna make us look stupid. Has always been the case with us, sadly. Sometimes we simply don't try to win the contest.

I question the same, we were down to 12 because Radley did miss 20min of the match, but given how poorly they have been, I still don’t know how we lost that.

Hopefully this isn't the week that the weight of all the injuries/retirements/suspensions finally breaks this team, when they are up and going the Panthers play at a speed that is incredibly difficult to contain, with so many guys with little first grade experience in the squad tonight I worry that we will really struggle defensively.

For us to be competitive JWH/SST/Liu/Crichton are going to have to really stand up and lay a platform for Teddy/Manu to be able to attack a retreating defense.

a full strength panthers team stung by 2 recent losses playing at home v a roosters team without a few players. going to be tough.
we need to play smart footy for the full 80, defend well, control the ball when we've got it and get good kicks away. k.i.s.s.

Just remind your friends about their loss to the Sharks and Tigers. Even with the luxury of only having 7 guys out they couldn't beat these rubbish sides.
Of course I am well aware that there's not many left to choose from. I would have liked it if Suaalii was chosen to be at right centre and Manu at 6.

I think this will happen. Gives us more strike. Plus it would be a lot to expect Sam V to play 80.

I don't know why we lost that game. I heard some say that it was that they were too emotional because it was Jakes farewell. I find it hard to understand why a farewell for a teammate, who's only retiring (not died) some would get so emotional as to act irrational and lose the plot. I would say more that we have a few games a season where we just don't show up at a time when we are the hottest of favourites to win that game. During seasons when we have been premiers we've lost to the Titans, Tigers and a couple of other nuffies. Last year we lost to Manly on the 2nd round I think when we had so many chances to win it. See that is something I don't see the Storm do.

I just hope I’m not complaining about a 9-1 set restart count against us again.

The Referee was out of his depth, Radley acted like a dickhead, and the Broncos have lost viewers now the Lions are going gangbusters.

Regarding the game tonight, no Kikau is a big out. Cleary is only as good as you let him be...who knows, his chin might implode or he might have had a long session with one of his ticktok twats and be exhausted.

"We will lose. They're too good. Life's unfair".

We are going for a walk in the park tonight. In the future we will all look back at the 2021 premiership, that we won, with pride. It will be universally known as the season where we beat adversity, the season where team spirit triumphed. Go Easts!

For all of the negative Nancies:

We've got a chance and we'll take it
We may win or we may lose
We may even have to cut and run for it

Well it won't be the first time we've run
And it won't be the first time we've been caught
                              It's the game that matters

But am very proud how we have managed all year despite major setbacks,. How did riff manage without some players? We have an entire team missing yet still on 5th!
