  • As long as souffs........

don't win. I don't really care who wins it, let's face it, it will be a miracle if Penrith or the Storm don't win. I have this huge desire to see Easts overtake souffs in the premiership tally. After 1971 it was souffs 20 Easts 9, now it's souffs 21 Easts 15, so we are catching them. So sick of their BS call "forever in our shadow". We have more minor premierships and more Internationals than them, we've also been runner up more times than them. They have won more spoons.

I was once on a train on the way back home from a roosters vs souffs game at ANZ stadium. And a group of 4 elderly gentleman sat near me, 2 roosters, 2 souffs.

Roosters had won the game so naturally the souffs fans were talking about 21 premierships, forever in our shadow blah blah blah. One of the roosters blokes responded, "you've won more premierships but you won them all while the real men were at war".

I don't know how true it is, but I laughed my head off.

That is true, during the Great war 1914-1918, Easts were without a lot of the top side who were over there. Souffs won 2 during that time.

They won most of their comps in the 50's and 60's, a period when we were an also ran. Since the game has become more professional we have left them wallowing in our dust.

I don't want Souffs or the Drizz to win. TBH the Drizz is the one I hate the most though.

Yeah yeah old blood with Souffs and stuff, I get it. However, at least they are a club (albeit a scummy POS club). Drizz are just this stupid, manufactured PR stunt that's designed to compete with the AFL in Melbourne.

To me the Drizz makes the whole NRL look stupid because it proves that we can't expand!!! Meanwhile, AFL's built GWS and Goldcoast (both deep inside League territory) from the ground up. Part of their building process was going through a decade of hard losses where fans huddled together in the cold and sang songs to cheer each other up. Gradually they built their teams up, some local juniors came good and now they're legit teams. Melbourne? Apparently it's a bigger city than Sydney!!! And yet, not one NRL grade player has come from a local, Melbourne-based club to the Drizz. Everybody's sick of them getting generous treatment from the refs and management. They had Australia's captain for a good decade and (unlike every other Australian captain), nobody likes the guy. Fark Souffs, but fark the Drizz even harder!!! The sooner they have to go through a re-build (like every other club... Pemriff and Souffs included), the better.

I think we will eventually pass them by in premierships... however what’s more important is we will all watch easts win more grand finals with our own eyes... that tally won’t even be close.

I've seen 6 premiership wins and 12 grand finals involving the Roosters. I was 9 in 1971. As roosterman said most souffs supporters have seen 1gf since 71, that is pathetically bad, no wonder they're so jealous. As far as Melbourne goes, they are just Broncos mark 2. I couldn't care less about them, we'll have their measure next year.

Ah! Look, another I hate Souffs thread, don’t get me started Ray my mind is at peace on this, a lovely cold winter Sunday afternoon, you know what PHARK IT, seeing as I’m here PHARK the SHIT STAIN and those purple wankers for two years they were terrified of us, 2 years of pain we caused both of those scumbag clubs, I can’t wait for those days to come back be it next year of the year after we have been cursed for nearly 2 years after our 2 years of domination surely we have suffered enough for all our success!

                GO EASTS!

Yeah I don't buy into any of the 'real men' or military cr@p (not offended but during that time my family were treated like shyte and sent 'back' to Italy... to me debating military prowess is all BS, just like how Bonnyrigg & Sydney United kill each other at park-grade soccer matches over what supposedly happened to such and such's grandparents, once upon a time).

However, it's still a fair point that Souffs won all their premierships in a bygone era that very few people living today (all 75+ years old) will have any meaningful recollection of. My standard line with a Souffs supporting colleague is...
Dude: 'yeah mate we won [some bogus number] more premierships than you'
Me: 'Really? I've only seen one in my lifetime and it was a complete stitch-up'
Dude: 'There's more than that in my life!!!'
Me: 'Congratulations, you're officially on old f@rt'

Imagine only witnessing one gf in 50 years, we're lucky we support the Roosters.

And they also left out the most important stat for mine……One of the premiership wins was against no opposition.

                          the best statistic of all!!!

anyone know the full correct story behind that??

I think Penrith will win the comp if they remain fit but Melbourne & Souths will give it a good crack.
Melbourne are such a good club who are so well coached & add so much to the NRL.

2 50 point losses to penrith and the storm rules souffs out. It's a 2 horse race.
